I've not heard of electric disc's, mine are hyd disc's like whats on the front of your car... they take an electric signal from a standard controller or like my post above the smart brake... . I like you, have 2 trailers with electric brakes... ... and their a constant headache to keep running..... the springs fall off the shoes if you don't have them adjusted. . the wires brake on the magnets, they wear out... . I personally think this whole electric brake thing is made by "" how cheep can we do it for the guy who uses a trailer 3-8 weeks a year and maybe 10K miles...
With the electric system we were always looking at it... . with the disc's we check them every 3 months..... we ran the lines and hoses in such a way to keep them out of the way... Our big problem in the winter is 300 lbs of ice and snow hanging from the bottom of the trailer... . we have pipe we run all wires through... .
I'm very unhappy with the price of pads on the Dexter axle system, as they are unique to Dexter and you can purchase a good set for a car for $30. 00 and the dexter set is $110. 00... . Other than that... . I'm excited about the elect/hyd disc brakes... . BTW the Dexter pads went almost 100K...
