I've read posts about blue lights being better but when I went to the parts store and saw the variety of lamps, I decided to make some calls. I talked to GE and Sylvania and both said the blue lamps aren't brighter, they make them to keep up with market demand. I asked both - which lamps will light up the road the best? Both make lamps that are accually brighter - Sylvania 9004XV and GE 9004HO. Both companies said that these are the best for brightness and vision. I got the GE's at Walmart - 2 pack for $16.
The stock lights had such a blotchy pattern, I couldn't tell where they were aimed. I put the 9004HO's in and shined them at the garage wall and they were aimed like Marty Feldmans' eyes! After getting them aimed right, I was very pleased. They're like headlights used to be and they even have an extra bright spot in the center so you can tell where they're aimed. It takes a T-15 driver for the aiming screws. The right/left screw is at the inside of each light(by the radiator) and the up/down screw is just under the center of the glass lens.
That's one more annoying problem fixed! Craig
