I installed a Brite Box on my old '01 and it worked perfectly. About a year after purchasing my current truck I then bought the appropriate BB for it. Not too long after installing it that I started having issues. It would burn out the drivers side headlamp.
I went through 4 or 5 lamps in just a couple of months. I called the manufacturer and inquired about the issue. I told them I would remove the BB to see if the problem still persisted. I did take it out and the problem went away. I left it out as I liked not having to change out the lamps every few weeks but never followed up with the maker.
When changing the lamp one time I snapped the tabs on the BB plug end. I thought that water may have been entering the connection causing the blown lamps. When I put the BB back in today I used electrical tape around the plug connectors to continue my diagnosis hoping that this may solve the issue. Well...
... now the BB does not function at all. The HI/ LOW beams react as if the BB was not in place. I am little mad about this as I paid good money back then (yes, it is my own fault for not following up within an acceptable warranty period. )
Yes, the grounds are securely attached to the chassis, but I could make new pigtail to make sure of this connection. Other than grounding I cannot imagine what else it could be as it is a very straight forward installation.
I tried to do a search to get the mfgrs. contact information again but I cannot find a maker... only suppliers. I am assuming they are still in bidness as I see that Geno's still sells them.
Any info on where to contact them or any ideas on what my problem is would be appreciated.
