This just happened to me last night coming back from a trip with the Toy Hauler and family. I was backing the trailer up the drive, and was in low range 4X4 which I had done numerous time with my 99, 03 and 06 and never had this happen. Lots of binding backing up steep hill with 8000 lb + trailer. I hadn't even started up the drive, and I heard a "BANG".

I had to take the tire off to get it loose. I had read about this happening to a bunch of guy on the Cummins forums. It happens to both lifted and stock trucks. Most seemed to be new 2010's + trucks. The break looks just like everyone else.
I got the local Dodge dealer to give me the end in exchange for the broken one under warranty. He want's me to come in and get it realigned. The new one looks just like the old one. There were 3 different news posting on the web about the recall but the dealer was clueless. Ran my Vin and gave me my new power steering cap plus the tie rod end.
I am going to talk to him and see if I should wait until he get the recall information. My concern is this is going to happen again unless the correct procedure is followed to fix it.
