Lines were rusted and had to change to the new plastic fuel sending unit. While disconnecting the fuel lines from the old one, I broke the quick disconnect head off the end of the hose. The hose that is broken is the smaller one closest to the electrical connection for the fuel gauge sending unit. I think this one is the return line to the tank. Any suggestions on how best to fix this? If it is the return line, will cutting off the rest of the head and replacing with heavy duty rubber hose and several hose clamps work? This is on a 99 24 valve truck.

Mine broke one morning on the way to work, I sprayed about 7 gallons of diesel all over the little car behind me! I replaced it with some rubber fuel hose. I haven't had any problem with it. I've heard that the hose has to be rated for diesel but i've had no problem. I tried to buy the correct hose from the dealership to replace it, but 3 times they got it wrong. About 8 bucks worth of rubber hose and 2 hose clamps beats the 67 dollar price tag of the OEM part!
