So Cal Event!!!- DECEMBER 13 BBQ-RALLY

Brown's Valley Dyno Day

I have never been to one of these before. I need to know a few things. Where exactly (address) do I need to go? What time do I need to be there. And, what is it going to cost?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

?????

I want to go !!!! will anybody be their on sunday ?? thats only day I can go !! will I learn how to tweak my 92 ctd ??

1 locomotive out !

Jeff and all, the address is 5003 Highway 20. It's pretty easy to find... practically the only business out there. Coming from the east (Grass Valley/Penn Valley) direction is about 20 miles west of Grass Valley. You will cross the Yuba River, continue on, pass the Unocal 76 station... start looking for the only cell phone tower out there. BVRV is on the north side of the highway directly across from the cell tower (explain why nobodys cell phones work there )

Not sure on the price yet... I forgot to ask him. Last time we did this it was $50 for pretty much unlimited runs... may be more, that thing uses quite a bit of electricity. I will find out.

We will be there on Sunday as well since there are a lot of people that can't make it Saturday.

Well, there will be every make and model of diesel there. Tons of modifications going on, lots of good people to hang out with. If there's any questions on your truck, someone there will have the answer. We do all sorts of modifications and then we can throw the trucks on the dyno to see exactly what it did and iif it helped or not. I'm not good at explaining stuff, maybe someone else will chime in:)

1 locomotive- what you'll learn is how extra-ordinary your truck is! As I've learned, this is a good group of guys to hang around with. Go for it... and bring ear plugs. :D

Please keep this thread updated so some of us southern guys can adjust schedules.

Gary- good luck with the MIL. Broken hips can take a while to heal.

I should be back on the West Coast (in N. C. right now) by the 2nd, so I will be there for breakfast and then over too BV for the event. Not sure I will be runing as of yet or just a spectator.

Okay guys, talked to Blane today and it's going to be $50 like last time.

I checked out the Eagle's Nest in Marysville. Seems to me it would be big enough for all of us and the food and service were great. There's plenty of parking in the south lot or you could probably park across the street in Kragen parking lot. I screwed up and didn't see what time they opened, if I get a chance I'll swing by there and also get the address number so everyone can find it on mapquest or something.

for maps of both Browns Valley and The Eagle's Nest, go to

MAPQUEST

and for Browns Valley, enter the following address:

5003 HWY 20

BROWNS VALLEY, CA

for the Eagles Nest, enter

132 9TH St

MARYSVILLE, CA

you can also use the "DRIVING DIRECTIONS" option to get you from the restaurant to the dyno event

Big Jake, thanks for posting the addresses.

Diesel Gunner, good question... hopefully early, but a lot of folks are coming from the bay and I still gotta see when they open.

Locomitive 1, might want to pack a lunch. Last time Blane's boys cooked up some tasty hot dogs and hamburgers but not certain if they are going to do that this time. There is a gas station just up the road with snacks and sandwich shop. There's a Carl's Jr in Marysville about ten minutes away.

I gotta go back down there this weekend and dyno again, don't want any other Fords beating me in HP:D Drugs don't count I don't care what anyone says!:-{}

I just got off the phone with THE EAGLES NEST and they open for breakfast on weekends at 0530.

Just my suggestion, how about we meet at between 0730 and 0800 for a nice breakfast which will still get us out there in time to register and help set up if so inclined.

It is about a 15 minute drive between both locations.

Cool, thanks Big Jake!! No setup necessary, we'll have all that ready. We have a culvert pipe to route the smoke out because I ain't moppin' the floor again:D You can register as we go. we're pretty laid back unless we have mass amounts of trucks dynoing.
