Need some help. My 03 long bed 4X4 just fits in my garage, I have about 2 inches in the rear between the rear bumper and the garage door. My last truck, a 99 Dodge V-10, had a rather nice, large brush guard on the front. The guard looked nice and did a great job of protecting the front of the truck. Once while driving on 1-37 in San Antonio, a guy in front of me with an old beat up motor home, lost his roof mounted A/C unit, and I was the lucky dude right behind him. As I had cars on both side of me, I no option except to hit the bouncing A/C unit. Well, I hit it hard and when I looked in the rear view mirror, all I saw were little chunks of metal and plastic on the road. I figured I had really screwed up the front of my then 2 month old truck. When I pulled over, a few scrapes, some paint missing on the bottom of the guard, but nothing was done to the truck! Of, course, the bum on the motor home never stopped or even slowed down. Obviously, I am a fan of truck front end protection. I would like to get a brush guard/bumper guard for my 03, but I need to find one that is not going to make the truck any longer. Any units out there that replace the stock bumper with a brush guard/bumper combo that doesn't add much to the truck length? Anyone seen one or installed one that might work? And, a new house or garage is NOT a currently available option. Thanks--
