bucking

my 2001 ram3500 cumming 5spd 4X4 has developed an issue where it is running along smoothly and ill suddenly buck like engine shutoff for a fraction of a second. this sometimes only happens once and sometimes it can happen 2 or 3 times over a couple minutes. there is no consistency in when this happens. sometimes it is cruising, sometimes it is pulling, it may be low speed or high speed. i am wondering if this could be injector issue or ECM/PCM issue. any thoughts would be appreciated immensely as i don't want to take a chance being on a long trip and have something go out on me.
