Group purchases are a great way to get a product for a discounted price and make friends along the way. I was part of one several months ago and enjoyed it very much. That said, there are way too many people on these sites that have over the top expectations. You are not going to get a 50% discount, nor 40 or 30%. If all goes well you might end up saving 10-15%, most times enough to pay for the shipping or at least a good portion of it. A group buy isn't for the guy that wasn't interested in the product to begin with, for this buy it's a bumper by BUCKSTOP. For the people that might have been thinking about purchasing a new bumper, this is great, they save some and feel good about purchasing their bumper with others. It gives them a common subject to chat about before and after the purchase, and it's fun to hear when everyone gets theirs in and installed. But for the people that were never considering a bumper purchase, their is not enough discount to compel someone to jump on board just to save some money. Also, the buy was for a BUCKSTOP line of bumpers, not TRAILREADY, or any other brand. Want one of those? start your own group purchase. Another common problem with web sites is that alot of folks seem to let their mouths override their check books, this just means alot of people will talk about buying a bumper but few will actually go thru with it. I think on ours we had 9 people that bought 13 bumpers, and probably had 25 or 30 say they were going to buy. It didn't realy matter on our purchase, we had enough to insure a nice discount, but it was amazing how many talked for over a month about their purchase, and then canceled at the last moment. Just be aware of it, and except it as "Normal" behavior.
