While we tried to test this new software as thoroughly as possible (it was up for almost 1 week for you guys to test as well) there are always things that fall through the cracks. Please put any bug reports on the new software in here. I will get to them as soon as possible and do my best to resolve what I can.

I think this software is very s-l-o-w compared to the old. Is it supposed to be slower?

Also... when I reply, I get an error screen saying no thread specified.

What's up with that?

EDIT then when I try to submit it again, I get another error message saying only one reply within 60 seconds.

Then I page back using my tool bar and I see the reply is in.

?????

EDIT again... see what I mean?

How did you reply to the message? Did you click on the post reply button or one of the quick reply buttons? If a quick reply did you submit it as a quick reply or go to advanced mode? Just trying to trouble shoot what's going on.

As to performance if you read my post at the top of the website forum regarding the new software there is some explanation about that. The search is building and so is a post cache so the server is working overtime. It will be somewhat slower because there is so much more content on each page (about 30% more text). There is also an explanation in there of why we needed to upgrade.

I used the "post reply" button on the lower left.

I get the same rection if I hit the "submit reply" button just below the reply box or if I use the button under the "additional options" section.

I didn't read the post on top of the website... . but I'm sure there were reasons to change, not challenging that at all... just feeding back my observations that the site is noticably slower.

Steve your mailbox is full (or so that's the message I got) so I posted here.

Did it happen again on that last reply? Are the pull down menus working for you? If you point at the "Discussion Forum" menu button up top you should get a drop down menu from it. If you aren't seeing that then Javascript is disabled on your machine and that may be part of the problem. Thanks for your help.

Yes it happened again on my last reply. The dropdowns are working.

Steve no need to dwell on my problem..... at least I can get around it for now. I'm sure there are bigger issues on the first day of rollout.

This is from my work computer and sometimes fuunny things happen because of firewalls... . I'll try using the forum from hoe tonight and see hot that works out and let you know.

I seem to be having a problem with the "View New Posts since your last visit" link, when I click on it all it does is pull up the search page. Is this abnormal?

It pulls up a search results page or the search page itself? It should pull up a search results page with all the new posts listed on it.

No, it is pulling up the actual search page so I clicked all forums and hit search and obviously said that I was missing certain search values.

I did find though that if I select "Discussion Forums" at the top of the page the drop down menu that appears has a view new threads and that link works. Just the one on the homepage that is under the "Welcome back xxxxx there are xxx new posts/threads"

Easy on eyes

Tried that Light Almond background color... Was real surprised. I like it.

Easy on the eyes and not intrusive.

Thought I would like the Bright White, but after 10 minutes or so, I had to dump that.

Question:

Why are some of the thread titles bold and others are not?

I've discovered there's a problem with how the menus are rendered when there are certain objects on the screen. Specifically right now in the classifieds and the chat room the drop down menus appear behind some of the objects on the screen. I am working on it.

It appears that the "Remember Me" in the login section is not working. At least for me it isn't. I am using Mozilla as my browser with Linux as the OS.

Patriot Blue

I took the color right off of Dodge's truck build page.

Steve, at work on my ViewSonic VP191b digital monitor it appears to be a deep purple. Is that how it appears to you?

Obviously this is not a bug, just wondering if I need to "retune" the color shift on my home monitor. It is a graphics model and I haven't calibrated it for more than four years. :)

Threads with unread posts are bold

neato!

I am going to enjoy this new software. Just need to get the saddle leather "worn in" :)

Ooh! just noticed something else good. The smilie characters bug has been fixed! Now it places the character AT THE CURSOR instead of at the end of the message...

Thanks a bunch!

Two Suggestions

1) Can you add a hot-key for the "post reply" button? ALT-Q comes to mind for "Quick Post".

That way I don't have to go searching over the page to find it. Not much of a mouse lover anyway.

2) Others have mentioned and I second, the icon to the left of the thread title for view "new posts" is way too small. Can you double the size of it?

3) On the page listing "Last Days Posts". It would be super neat to have a hot-key for "next page". ALT-N would do nicely>

Get some good sleep before acting on these. I can wait.
