I need some info from an experienced builder. I am building a house for my parents and need to know what everyone is doing with the "z" flashing or ledger board flashing. With the new ACQ treated lumber and the metal flashing. I know it cant touch the wood and you need to use special fasteners but could you use tar paper over the wood first then the metal with the right fasteners. I seen home depot has pre bent vinyl on there web site but not at the store. Looking to get this done soon instead of having to order something. Thanks in advance.

Copper flashing and ACQ approved fasteners. Galvanized fasterners are generaly still fine, just look for an ACQ approved label on the box. Most joist hangers are approved now too. Look for Simpson Z-Max hangers. As long as you stay away from aluminium flashings you should be fine. It's the high copper content in the new treatment that eats the aluminium and non-coated fasteners.
