that's right these 5's are great!!!! they gave my right at 100hp increase over my dd2's. now they idle a little rough but who cares these are great. as you can see these runs were done on speedzone's dynojet dyno in pocetello, id. i stopped there on my way down to tulare. elevation was 4000 feet. these #'s are corrected, with these runs my truck has made over 200dyno pulls!!



well here goes my truck has a extra fuel pump,hx-40 and a 4"exhuast. so with just the 5's my truck made 454hp. with the comp on 1-5 it made 480hp, with the comp on 5-5 it made 515hp, with propane,comp5-5 it made 539hp,with comp5-5,propane, and nos it made 616hp:D :D!!!!!!! i was hoping to dyno down at tulare but there was not a dynojet or mustang down there. i had a bigger nos jet and was planning on tweaking my propane for closing in on the 650 mark, oh well next time.

you know Michael and the gang over at Bully Dog dont toot their own horn, but I have been told By Michael himself. they have a 99 that has 643RWHP.



I missed the boat on the step 5's by about two weeks. and have been sorry every since.

Great numbers Jim !!!! I'm really happy for the both of us, I would have felt like a horse's a$$ if they only dynoed with a small gain after all of my bragging on how great they are :D

Hmmmm, maybe we need to re-think the ETH V. ETC debate ? Just a short while ago, anything over 350 RWHP seemed unreachable w/o drugs. I'm not ready for LPG, but I will be adding a NOS kit in the spring, after seeing what the nitrous did to your numbers :eek: .



Is setting 1-5 the EZ only mode on the comp. box ???



Interesting to note, if 1-5 is EZ setting and 5-5 is max fueling on the comp. box, only about a 36 HP gain over the EZ setting, if I'm correct in that boxes settings, which would be consistant wth the ETH. I'd like to see the gain difference with the ETC for comparison.



Seem's that very large injectors are the way to big numbers with the ETH.

Now from ur pics on ur page, have you towed with the bd 5's?

I am styll undecided on which level of injectors to go with. I am interested in the propane 2k kit as well. But I have to be able to tow with the truck, although not alot. Are you able to keep ur egt's low enough? Please give a boy hope!!

i have not towed with the 5's yet but i will be pulling a load of 12 cows over a 8% grade in the next couple of weeks. the load should weigh in at 18k plus the truck. this will test a few things, i will be able to see how the 5's work when towing really heavy. and i will be able to test how much this southbend can hold while towing. i have no fear about towing with these big injectors, other than the smoke. :eek:



with my 2's and ez if the trailer weighed in at less than 10k i could not go over 1200egt pre. i beleive that is the best towing combination. as far as propane it does what it says it will, but i've never used it all the time. i blew a head gasket when i first put it on my eth.

thanks guys, this was a big step for me and it's taken some work to reach this level. i think with some fine tuning it will reach closer to 650. thanks for the invite to bd, but i can't make it. i just came back from tulare, almost 3000 miles. big bob kick some butt over there.

WOW..... that is way too cool!



I put on a set of torque links last night to eliminate the remaining "thud" due to EXCESSIVE axle wrap. now I could use some more power. Bully Dog 5's should put me very close to 390 HP :)

The Dynojet software has several correction factors, but all are based on normally aspirated engines. By the time you get to 4000 ft. elevation, they are inflating the numbers significantly, perhaps 10-15% over actual for a turbocharged engine. The cheapest way for you to get another horsepower increase is to dyno your Ram in Denver at 5000 ft or even better, in Wyoming at 7000 ;)



Since you are comparing Diesel Dynamics to Bully Dog injectors, I wish to mention that Lawrence at DD can and does make much stronger injectors than those you used. However, he does not sell the strongest ones he can make because there is no way to hone injectors so far and make them live. He warrantees his for 200,000 miles and includes quality control steps like thoroughly cleaning them and resetting the pop off pressures that some companies don't. His partner's truck with VP44 just made 551 hp on diesel only.



Congratulations on your hp numbers, by the way :) Hope you get weaned from those drugs soon. Bart Timothy reported on this list about a lot of blown ETH head gaskets using drugs. :(
