Jim,

Slushbox??? I would say that Nowel has the best trans on the site. Maybe too tight even for his power. I know when he came to our shop we came to the conclusion that he needed more power to tame that custom TC (94. 5%). I know that he has the tightest TC that we have produced and will ever produce. :D

That why I would say that once Nowel goes to the track that we will all have a lot of catching up to do. :( That is if he ever gets traction.

It's to bad that the stick boyz will have no chance if he keeps it up. Cause the only way to realy judge power is to race it. Dyno's are just a base line #. So Nowel give us a time to chase. As Joe said there are several factors with dyno's that can often make dyno's tuff to compare.

The cheapest way for you to get another horsepower increase is to dyno your Ram in Denver at 5000 ft or even better, in Wyoming at 7000 ;)

joe as i've stated before i've had my truck on 4 different dyno's for over 200 pulls. so i believe i can speak about the way the dyno's work at different elevations. elevation is only one part of the correction factor. temp, humidty, barometric pressure. i know you spend time at dd and there dyno. there elevation is over 2000 feet and they use corrected #'s. last time i talked with them about there dyno. they said there cf. was about 10-12% most times. my cf. was around 15% at 4000 feet. but the outside temp was a balmy 45.

while we were at tulare i couldn't believe the hp difference at sea level. sop meter is bs, but i was so impressed i told a few it would almost be worth a move to sea level. i was hoping to be able to dyno on a dynojet while i was there, to see how the cf. really works.

Since you are comparing Diesel Dynamics to Bully Dog injectors, I wish to mention that Lawrence at DD can and does make much stronger injectors than those you used. However, he does not sell the strongest ones he can make because there is no way to hone injectors so far and make them live. He warrantees his for 200,000 miles and includes quality control steps like thoroughly cleaning them and resetting the pop off pressures that some companies don't. His partner's truck with VP44 just made 551 hp on diesel only.

joe i called dd and asked for a set of injectors bigger than supermentals. they said no dice. i also asked if they had anything to compare with bd5's. and lawerence said that his 3's outflow bd5's. as you can see that was a flat out lie. on both a dynojet and mustang my 5's made over 100 more hp than my dd2's. i've talked to lawerence about our eth's. he told me that the highest #'s he can reach without pump mods is 48x. i asked about 500 and he said not without pump mods. as far a warranty at this level isn't that my choice? oh well i loved my dd2's and that's why i called dd when i wanted 5's. these 5's aren't for everyone. but i did drive it 2800 miles with no problems. Congratulations on your hp numbers, by the way :) Hope you get weaned from those drugs soon. Bart Timothy reported on this list about a lot of blown ETH head gaskets using drugs. :(

joe i'm one of the eth's with a blown headgasket. my real goal is to hit 600 with no drugs. with a big turbo and a few other tricks i should be able to get close. somebody has to give you under valved guys a run. :D thanks for setting a mark to shoot for, allthough it will never stop.

i drove both your old dodge and the new ford and the trannys are great. you guys do great work. but as far as racing and i've done alot of it. the auto's are the only way to go. but if i was going to really race it wouldn't be in a 8k truck. i'm currently looking at building a drag truck. i'm shooting for a race weight of under 5000. i can make 300hp less and still run abotu the same speed. my best time with my old injectors and no drugs was 9. 9 in the 1/8th at 6000 feet. i had a 2. 00 60' which is pretty good for a stick. but i was getting all the way into 5th gear.

imo the best way to test hp is hook up a 20k trailer and head over the hill. he who crosses the top first wins. now your looking at egt's, and for you auto guys transmission temp.
