nah,,,,,,,,,,,,it is in testing now and b-dog wont release a product till it has been run for a period of time on a number of different trucks. the 05 aint been out too long and they had to do the different programming magic which took a bit as the program is different than the 04. 5. so when i said soon,,,,, i meant soon as in weeks. maybe sooner,,,,,,,, i'll letcha know :)



and like brian i have NO flat spot. still get a :D on my bearded face everytime i get behind the wheel Oo.



some news on the high idle feature. this will be on the 04 auto models as this is in the ecm and the pup will enable it. at this time all others will have the 'pto' feature which is a hi idle feature but ya gotta have the dl pluged in to use it where the 04 autos it will be inside the ecm. as for the 03s and the nv5600 equipped 04s,,,,,,,,,,,,,well,,,,,,,,,,,,,gotta wait and see and cross our fingers.



they got it figured out where ya can upgrade the dl over the internet so it wont be too long b4 all upgrades will be done that way. should otta be purty slick. Oo.
 
Any word on if or when we might get a version that allows the user to set tire revs/ mile in the ECM like you can with the OBD III?

The outlook monitor does not reporgram the ECM in anyway does it? I want a corrected speedometer and odometer. I'm assuming the correction factor in the outlook monitor only corrects for it's own display.



The feature to reprogram the ECM setting seems to be in the other downloaders for the other brands, are they planning to offer it for Dodge or not?

Are you sayin' I can use my cruise control buttons for the high idle now that I have used my DL on my truck?
 
I'm not sure about this high idle feature... ... ... ... . I have a 03 and when it is cold outside my truck automatically goes into a hi idle... 1000rpms... . while it is warming up. If someone could explain what the high idle feature is with the D/L I would appreciate it. As far as a flat spot I dont feel it... ... ... ... . I have had all three programs and the only thing I have noticed is when I had the insane mode and was using cruise it seemed to surge a little... ... ... ..... other than that its great.

There is a Dodge TSB for the 04 autos, (only), to enable a high idle feature. The D/L doesn't have this feature. It does, however, have a PTO feature, which allows you, with the box plugged in, to raise your idle speed up to 1900 RPM. This works on all year trucks.

I have the same surge in mine when I use cruise too. . As for the high idle use the arrow buttons to hilight pto. . Then press Y it will take you to the high idle feature, then press Y again the truck will idle up to 900 rpms, push the up button to increase the rpms in 100 rpm increments up to 2000 rpms. when you are done hit N the truck will idle down then unplug the box and recycle key... ;)

Jim the High Idle mode that you are hearing about is a function in the ECM that the dealer has to turn on and is only avalable on 04s with an auto. It allows the driver to turn on the high idle and adjust it from 1000 to 1500 RPMs all from the buttons on the cruse control. Its similar to the cold high idle that your truck has but it dosent have to be bellow 32* to work. The problem people are having is that after installing the DL they are unable to use the cruse control buttons to work the high idle. It sounds like Bully Dog is working on a High Idle that will correct this but more then likly you will have to have the DL pluged in to use the High Idle.



Thats the only thing holding me back from getting the DL (well acually its the lack of money thats really holding me back but thats another story). It dosent get real cold here alot but I like to use this function on those real cold morning and when I go skiing in colordo its REAL NICE to have. Maybe by the time I get the cash somehting will be worked out.

I drove up to see muddy today and got 21. 57 mpg. 590 miles on the trip odo and still a quarter tank left. This is on performance mode. 166 miles on odo before I left, mixed city/highway. Cruise set at 75 most the way except for some foggy areas. No surging with cruse. Set the cruise at 80 on the way home. Don't know milage yet cause still have almost half a tank left. 850 mile day. All things being equal (speed/load) I believe the performance mode provides better milage than I was getting stock. 1 to 1. 5 mpg better.

Dyno'd Today

Took my truck in to Dynomite Diesel to have them tap for the pyro probe and then dynoed. Their Dynojet dyno is one of the most stingy dynos around, but turns out consistent numbers. My truck is an 03 HO six speed. Only mod is the AFE mega cannon. I have installed the Outlook to help me monitor and control the power. For the first dyno run, I loaded the stock program and had the Outlook at 100% power. HP was 261. 3 and torque was 476. 3. I then loaded the extreme program and it did 380. 6 hp and 758. 4 torque. I was watching the Outlook monitoring boost and rail pressure. Boost got to 31psi and rail pressure hit 26000. EGTs are 1000 degrees or less. Oo. I think the limiting factor now would be the stock HY35 turbo. Now its extreme all the time, at least as long as the stock clutch holds out. And I still have the flat spot at 2000 rpm :(

ok,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,as to the hi idle,,,,,,,,,,it a done deal now. will be on 04 48re's. use cruz cntrl buttons to adjust idle. this will be enabled in the ecm by pressing a button on the dl. as of next week the dl's will come w/ this feature. all earlier dl's can be upgraded. the pto feature, weathr used on 04 autos or all other rigs, the dl must be pluged in at time of pto hi idle use. when used on 04 or 04. 5 48re eqipped rigs the unit need not be pluged in. just press a button while downloading program then it is enabled. just use cruise buttons to adjust.

Its been pretty good, the rig is running good. I was at Jonesey's Thur. , he said he hasen't seen ya lately. I guese I'll have to try one of the dl's, if nothing else I'll have the hi spd idler. ;) When ya get a chance PM me with your ph# so I can get hold of ya when I get up that way. I think I get pretty close to ya on I-84 on the way to Seattle.

yep,,,,,,ya need a fst idler and from what i read from one membr,the pup be a good stack with what ya already got :cool:
 
DL questions -

Is there a dl menu option for entering\downloading tire size info independent of the outlook monitor? what's the process for upgrading the dl? How thorough is the included documentation? Thanks!

and btw,,,,,,,,,,those that have the 05 and want the power pup the wait will be short now. several have been in testing and are doing well. we downloaded a friends 05 several nights ago. didnt dyno but sop feels like same power increase of the 03. files are longer on the 05 program so instead of 8 minutes it takes 10 minutes or so. the pusher pump on the 05 comes on which is normal but spooked me at 1st. the 03/04 lp just comes on for a split second at start and finish of process.



truck runs great and strong and mark is very pleased with the improvement



the release date should be in 2 weeks Oo.

Tire Size

to add to what muddy said, altering the tire size on the Outlook only changes the settings in the Outlook. It will not change the speedometer or anything in the vehicle electronics. If you need your speedo recalculated, that has to be done in the ECM and the dealer should be able to do that for you.
