Dodge Reveals New 6-speed!!

My downloader came today, but I have not tried it out yet? Wanted to ask a few questions first? I have 100 HP injectors and my EZ is set on level 6 (80 HP), should I turn my EZ down before installing the Power Pup? Also, my pyro is POST-turbo so I'm a little hesitant about running this much power, might get pretty HOT.

Any suggestions???

Thanks Blake

I have run the TST box on 7 and 8 combos, runs pretty good with just an airaid intake. Doesn't compare to Bullydogs programming on the bottom end. Stock 04. 5=turbo lag from hell, 04. 5 w/TST on 7's or so=improvement, but still a pain at stop lights, 04. 5 w/TST on 5's or so and Predator 85hp stage 2 fueling box=better bottom end, but Bully Dog on insane with 85hp Predator and TST off in four wheel drive=insane, no turbo lag (compared to stock), touch and go on the pedal, 1/4 pedal=like 3/4 before with TST. I put the TST on 3/3 once and gave it about half a pedal, RPM's shot up to 3400 (I know, few hundred past redline), screams pretty good. Not from a dead start, 20-30 ish, 80 comes up quick getting of the freeway. I haven't done any wide open runs at all, concerned about excessive boost pressures. Need my turbo to survive till I can spring for twins. If I had a choice of one box, I would probably take the Bully Dog over the TST. On higher settings my TST seems to have boost surging and other weird things. Not so on the Bully Dog, just the scream of redline. The Bully Dog Downloader does have the same problem though that I noticed with the very first Bully Dog box (torque dog 0/70/110 hp) I bought for my '03 555. It seem to continue to fuel for a second or so after you open it up alot, usually full throttle. It surges lightly and acts as though your still feeding it fuel. It was such a problem on my first torque dog that I had to trade it for a replacement. As far as the downloader is concerned, I only noticed it a couple of times, just a hint of it. Guess it's time to cut off the exhaust from the cat back, feed it out the side in front of the back tire. Seen a couple of PowerJokes set up that way, it was the only thing that looked good about a Ferd.

I installed the Bully Dog outlook monitor and the downloader. I have the out look mounted on the SRT-10 pillar gauge. Pretty nice stuff. I downloaded the "Performance" mode into my truck because I don't have the pyro and transmission temp gauge installed yet.

My truck is a 04. 5 Laramie 4x4 600 with 48RE and 35" tires. exhaust has been replaced with straight flow resonator and muffler. Also have homemade air intake with torque tube just like AFE.

All I can say is wow, with the 90hp, it made so much difference. I can hear the turbo louder and the tires spins easily. putting it on 4x4, the truck would launch quick instead of spinning tires.

I had to take it easy, not to do it soo many times. Kinda hard to do that, but I did anyways, letting it cool off cruising and then gun it again however I like it.

At stock mode, I was seeing about peak boost of about 37-38#, but with the performance mode, I saw peak of 42. 5# of boost! I was surprised to see it go up that much. I had to try it again and got same results with high boost. I have to try it again during the day when its warmer.

Can't wait to try the extreme :) Also I will try going to local drag strip and see how the truck performs in 1/4 mile stock and with insane. Should be good comparison.

Just wanted to say I also loaded the performance mode yesterday... ... . did not get any lights but did get the P0602 code and I havent tried the insane mode yet so they could still come when that program is loaded. So from what I reading you will get better results with some sort of a boost fooler or mild pressure box? I have the DD TTPM and was thinking of putting it on to see what it would do

Boostn, is that with the stock turbo?? I've heard anything over 34-35psi will pop that thing like a balloon in short order. I'd check into that if I were you!

Downloaded the performance setting today, and man my truck smokes a LOT more. Much more low end too. I did get trouble codes P0633 and P0602. The downloader let me clear P0602, but not P06033. What gives?

I called Bully Dog about that this morning at work, they told me that it seems like something is wrong with the plugs or sensor. So after work, I was warming up the truck and started jiggling and pushing in the plugs and back of outlook too to make it more snug. I had the P0609 code, some programming error. I cleared it out with the downloader. It now reads better now. I am getting between 27 to 31 or 32# of boost at WOT.

I was at 75% at Performance mode. From the dead stop, I was able to see black smoke from where I launched from :D Cool!

Can't wait to try the insane (extreme) on saturday when I get the pyro probe and trans temp gauge in. Just for precaution, I'd like to know whats going on when I am unleashing that much power!

There is this cocky kid with Mini cooper, not even an "S", he thinks he is the ***** and his car is "fast". Whatever, I'll show him what a truck weighing almost 3 times as much his car can do. :-laf

UPDATE:

No codes!

-To stack the EZ, you have to put the DL on first and then the EZ.

I stacked my EZ (50 HP) and DL (130HP) last night. First I stacked them w/my EZ already on, didn't feel much difference-40 PSI. Then I took the EZ off, put the DL to stock. Then I put the DL on Extreme and noticed a bit more power-43 PSI. Then I stacked the EZ and felt a LOT more power-47 PSI, and I let off.

Blake, you still running the stock turbo? Sounds like dead turbo time a. k. a. early TST to me. Must be crazy fueling.

My thoughts exactly, I assume the DL'er does not come with a boost elbow??

So this 46lbs is made even blowing by the stock wastgate? WOW! #ad

I have hit 41 lbs boost on setting 6 w/ my TST w/ stock boost elbow

I installed the DL yesterday. Great power on the performance level. Then I put it on the extreme level... . Stacked the EZ on level 6 and went through my stock clutch like it was fun. So much smoke!!!:) I saw only 42 psi. Tomorrow my DD jammer is going on. Hopefully I can afford a clutch too... . ! DL is going back to it original owner on monday. Thanks Diesel Dan!!!! You Rock!!!! Looks like I'm gonna have to trade the EZ in for a Bullydog Downloader. It is amazing how smooth it is. How much power and torque it gives down low. Even more than the TST on my truck! I have a CA SO 235 hp truck. With the DL and the EZ it had more power than my 2001 450HP truck for sure. Felt like a plane taking off. Great off road manners too. 4x4 and extreme is way to much for the clutch. If you are on the fence about one of these and have an auto trans... ... Call Bill K and then get the power pup!!!

I was traveling this week while my DL'er came, so put it in today with the outlook on extreme. Pyro was easy seeing I have the ATS manifold.

Power is way too much for stock clutch. I tried to drop the outlook joystick to 75 or 50%, and it doesn't change anything. It stays on extreme.

Two questions:

1) Instructions call for defueling at 1050 pre-turbo (manifold) & 1250 post turbo (exhaust downpipe). Isn't that backwards?

2) Any ideas to fix the quick change aspect of settings with outlook? Do I need to redownload?

BD tech support is not answering phone on weekends.

Thanks!

I have a B1 turbo on my truck. Ya, I know what you mean about the early TST, it blew my turbo up to :D . The DL does not come w/a boost elbow.

I am sorry guys, but I must either have a bad box or some of you are nuts. You all keep comparing this to a TST box, some even said it was more powerful than there TST. There is a big difference between these. I mean night and day difference. I have taken two different TDR members for rides in my truck. One was Bandit1 from the 12V forum. He can even tell you. My truck is nowhere near as powerful as with the TST box. I also found mine has a funny flat spot in the throttle. I was out running today and got so tired of it, I took the program off. I started running the TST again and I am much happier with it.

I might have to try what others have suggested and take my TST box off totally and try to load the program in
