Now that was fun! The two definitely compliment each other. A little on the warm side though,1400 W. O. T. uphill till 80 m. p. h. than had to shut down, raining here :-laf Power comes on like now too. Black smoke is now a reality. :) Im not even gonna consider the extreme setting today, damn thing might get away from me, :--) Seriously, this combo feels real good,no hiccups yet. I think i may try to try the extreme setting without the RAMifier, just to get another look at egt's... ... . On edit:Loaded extreme with RAMifier, serious giddyup, breaking em loose at 50 in the rain. Time to mellow, unplug box... ...

Fence,Is yours an SO?Try the extreme setting it will really open your eyes!
Yea Cat,it WAS an S. O. :) I just got through with a blast run, holy crap :-laf Unplugged fueling box and max egt with bdog was 1200,not bad for an extreme program. Im thinking a pusher pump may be in order soon. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge on your truck?

Ok so what we really need to know. How did the 48RE hold up. I'm tempted to load the insane program but darn I'd like to keep my trans a little longer. Did you notice when you d/l the performance one it tells you they recommend a trans. upgrade if you tow? I think my 48RE handles the perf. mode just fine.

Only 80 mph? is that all that combo can go up a hill? :-laf

Just kidding I couldnt resist. Keep us posted.

I think the power comes on so smooth with the bullydog that it will not be anywhere near as harsh on the tanny as the TST was. I also noticed my turbo barks a lot less with the bullydog tuner

The 48 did fine, although i couldnt get the power to the ground in the rain. Insane program with my fuel box equals sideways at 55 mph upon stabbing it. . :-laf Tomorrow should be dry and i will deposit some rubber on the local roads, will let ya know. . ;)

Ever heard of 4 high, on the fly????? Been drivin' all night in the rain with Bullydog Pup Insane, 85hp Dr. P fueling, and a TST all stacked. No gauges too. Intuition... ;)

lmills,

Talk to me about your Southbend FE. How do you like it? Can you still slip-it in third gear rolling slowly around a corner?

Any comments are appreciated

Best regards

The only thing that will slip going around a turn in third gear is the rear end. :D As for the FE so far it has held everything I have thrown at it. When the truck was new it dynoed 236 which I think is miserable for an HO. Since then I have dynoed 476 (double what I did stock)and have since put more power to it with no slippage. If I had to guess I would say it has to be over 600 at the flywheel and still holding. I will be redynoing it in a couple weeks to see if the bullydog downloader helps the TST or not. I know the bullydog tuner stacked with the TST and pressure box feel extremely violent. I have a hard believing that it isn't making more power than before, but we all know we can't go by the seat of the pants meter. :D

lmills,

What i mean is are you able to slip it smoothly like the stock clutch? How much drivability was lost over stock? or is it more of an on-off switch so to speak? How about pedal preassure? any more or less than stock?

Thanks

DD

I ran the downloader with the ramifier on my truck. This combo makes great power. Also adds a lot of smoke, which is nice. I never really have had a egt issue either. Great combo.

I hear you Digger, although i am a tad bit concerned about rail pressure now, considering the Ramifier raises it and the Bdog does too on the two higher programs. Definitely a potent pair though... ... . ;)

I wondered about that also, but then was thinkning about something else after that. If the pressure box is monitoring the rail pressure at the sensor, it should see how much pressure the rail already has and should not exceed the maximum limit. if the box knows when to stop bumping pressure.

Yes. I stacked them along with some pressure. Didn't see a real big jump in HP, it just came on a lot smoother and more linear. Then after leaving the dyno shop I found I had a bum downloader. The numbers for the downloader alone on the truck were only about 70-80 HP over stock. With the Bullydog stacked on top of the TST and quadzilla I saw about a 35 HP increase.

How did you know you had a bum downloader? I had one I my truck and often wondered the same, but it would have that jerk or surgeing when I tried to hold a constant speed so I assume it was fine.

We actually had two of them at the same time. Oddly enough. One was on my truck and one was on another TDR'ers truck. Bullydog said there was something wrong with the tuners since they only made 70 horse on mine and less on the other truck. The tuners with the bad programming are supposed to go back for a new program.

I just knew there had to be something wrong with mine from day one. Everyone kept saying how powerful theirs was, when mine felt about as strong as an EZ if not less.
