... THAT's why we have so many regulations.

Technically speaking, the Code of Federal Regulation is the body of codified law of the US government. It is the law to which 'rule of law' refers. If it isn't in the CFR, it isn't law and we cannot be ruled by it.

Of course, I could be mistaken and there is some other codified body of law under which we are ruled.

Same?

The president that you state is for the troops, has cut VA budget, and the retirement benifits for the military. It is ok to use them up, but forget them after... .

I have heard the same old tired story of how Clinton was riding on Regans economic policys. And of course the mess Bush is in can all be blamed on Clinton... And of course the attacks on Israel are a threat to the USA. Israel has its share of terrorist actions against Palistine to. To drive in and bulldoze homes is not a friendly act, to kill children is not a friendly act, and firing missles into civilian populations is not very friendly either.

Our foriegn policy can be compared to a crazy person. First you are our buddy, you have cheap oil and are attacking someone we don't like. Oh no, your not our friend you now are raising the price of oil and threatening someone else who has cheap oil. Oh you are not nice, you are communists. Oh, but not bad communists, because you will let us put a McDonalds here.

We are no good at it, we need to get out of the whole area, leave Israel to its own eye for an eye [edited out - please do not skirt profanity filters]. It will go on forever, there is another failed Bush plan. Lets add em up.

1. Have we gotten Osama yet?

2. Have we gotten Saddam yet?

3. Have we found any of the WMDs yet?

4. Have we boosted the ecomony yet?

5. Have we made peace between Israel and Palistine yet?

6. Have we made the USA more secure yet?

7. Have we cut spending yet?

8. Have we got peace in Iraq yet?

This list gets larger everyday, his promises are not coming true folks. There is a real leader in the wings waiting. Gen Wesley Clark!!!!

I said it before, and it still holds true. Expecting a Liberal to see the truth is like trying to teach a pig how to two-step. Its not going to happen, and it only confuses the pig.

I love reading what people write about what the Iraqi people think of the americans, and how bad the Iraqi people are now. From what "I" saw, y'All dont know what the H your are talking about. Brown and Root is hiring, so why not take a trip and educate yourselves so you can talk from real world experience instead of stating what you think is the truth. True "some" are worse off, but "everybody" has a better future, and "everybody" has more basic freedom now, than they have had in 30 years. It took the americans to liberate the country, and the Iraqi people know this.

1. Not yet

2. Not yet

3. Not yet

4. On the upswing

5. That will never happen

6. Yes

7. That will never happen

8. Yes, bout as much as LA anyway. It takes a while after 30 years of tyranny for things to stabelize. If you expect "peace" to bloom in a couple of months you must be a Democrat running for office.

I've long felt that to be a liberal one must hold a very dim view of your fellow man and to be pessimistic in general.

Now I get the feeling that little or no patience is a must as well.

Once, again, the 12 years of Reagan/Bush1 were economically blah, but of COURSE their policies came to fruition during the 8 years of Clinton... . who of course was putting in place economic policies dedicated solely to embarrassing his successor exactly at the point in which that successor took office.

Or the economy is cyclical and Clinton had nothing to do with it.

Tain't the liberals that are smoking crack, to continue spewing those lies!

Meantime, it doesn't matter that a lot of people thought there were WMD's in Iraq - it was the impatient Bush Administration that kicked out the UN inspectors who were looking for WMD's and went to war without finding any. Somebody said liberals were impatient?!? At least the liberals were letting the UN teams do their job!

1. Have we gotten Osama yet? No, and we won't as long as we're screwing around in Iraq.

2. Have we gotten Saddam yet? Nope, and it may be a long long time.

3. Have we found any of the WMDs yet? No, and they're looking more and more like a flimsy excuse.

4. Have we boosted the ecomony yet? The economy continues to suck, esp. for those who've lost jobs. Companies continue to flee to other nations.

5. Have we made peace between Israel and Palistine yet? Agreed that it will never happen.

6. Have we made the USA more secure yet? Probably not - though definitely more paranoid.

7. Have we cut spending yet? What, with a GOP White House and a GOP Congress dedicated to smaller govt. ? Hell no!

8. Have we got peace in Iraq yet? We had peace in Iraq, albeit not one we liked. WE declared war this time. And now that the UN isn't sending us any troops, WE need to get out of it by ourselves!

I can't believe you said that!

The NATO Commander relieved of duty for wanting to start WWIII.

The Ft. Hood Commander that sent tanks to Waco to destroy David Koresh and his Church family.

The "Supreme Being" Commander that his troops just loved to hate.

... . and to boot he is from Arkansas. HAD a close relationship with the Clintons, but is now seen as a liablilty to Hillary's aspirations.

Hoorah!

Quoting from CNN in 1998 - Concluding his nine-day trip to China in July 1998, President Clinton called it "a remarkably successful attempt to continue to build our partnership for the future. "

Clinton's aides say he was right to go, and they predict the visit will eventually pay huge dividends for both the United States and China.

Huge dividends! I hear that great sucking sound that Ross Perot predicted years ago ... ... ... ... ... BTW - Ross Perot is responsible for Bill Clinton get elected the first time.

JConley, that is just too funny!

Where do I start?

It was years before the Allies knew with any certainty that Hitler was dead. Nazi loyalists were taking potshots at Allied troops for months after hostilities "ceased" in Germany.

When I said, "impatient" I meant it.

One reason US corporations are fleeing the boundaries of the US could well be greed on the part of the Government. I know, whenever "greed" is discussed it is assumed that only private business can be greedy. Isn't it possible for elected officials and bureaucrats to be greedy? What makes them special?

To be sure, greed exists in the private sector but not on the scale that the Left would have us believe. How else can they justify their anti-business stance?

Perhaps if the Federal Government ceased hostilities on private business, i. e. , less regulations and a less punitive tax code, we'd perhaps see a more robust economy? Maybe even new business startups? The return of old businesses? I think it's worth a shot.

I got out of the Navy in '81. Reagan was President. Right in the middle of a recession. The job market was tough. I went back to school. The market came back. I did good. So did others. Place the blame or give the credit to whoever you'd like. The bottom line is, as always, if you want more out of life, YOU have to make it happen.

Don't look to Washington. They're only in it for themselves.

I am glad

I am glad that JJ does not like Clark. That just fortified my vote for him! You can believe all the crap pulled up on the general you want. He "served" in Nam, he has an education and a IQ that makes your cowboy look like an idiot.

The Republicants have pulled another rabbit out of their hat finding the bull on Clark... .

I am sure if Jesus himself was running for office on the Democrats ticket they could find someone who didn't like him! WAY too liberal!!!!:D

I still think we just need less government and a return to states rights. Forget fighting the rest of the world's wars. Give up on this stupid party system. I'm neither a Democrat nor a Republican. Both parties are too greedy and have their own hiddne agendas. Both parties have lied to the general population, especially after the parties switched views in the earlier half of the century. Let's get rid of the parties... just quit voting for the jerks. Voting along party lines has gotten us into the fix we are in today. When you get stuck in a rut, find another dad gum way to go.

PS Ya'll ought to just vote me in and we'll be done with this mess. See this thread:

Your statement is ---- well how shall I say this----is Blasphemous!

Jesus would never need to run on a man made system of two parties, like we have in this country. What a joke.

He is King of Kings and will rule with a rod of Iron. Liberal is laughable. :D

I feel so foolish!!!

CF and illflem are, from their posts on threads relevant to out truck, pretty intelligent, articulate guys.

It finally dawned on me!!

They are both way to bright to believe the non-sense they post on this thread.

Come on guys, they are just jerking our chains. Ill bet they exchange private e-mails laughing their heads off at us for taking their silly posts on here seriously.

How could we have thought they really ment the goofy stuff they say on here--------

We have been cleverly had.

Dubya and the Pearly Gates

While walking down the street one day, George "Dubya" Bush

is shot by a disgruntled NRA member. His soul arrives in heaven

and he is met by St. Peter at the Pearly Gates.

"Welcome to Heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you

settle in, it seems there is a problem: We seldom see

a Republican around these parts, so we're not sure

what to do with you. "

"No problem, just let me in; I'm a believer. " says

Dubya.

"I'd like to just let you in, but I have orders from

the Man Himself: He says you have to spend one day in

Hell and one day in Heaven. Then you must choose where

you'll live for eternity. "

"But, I've already made up my mind; I want to be in

Heaven. "

"I'm sorry, but we have our rules. " And with that, St.

Peter escorts him to an elevator and he goes down,

down, down, all the way to Hell.

The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a

lush golf course; the sun is shining in a cloudless

sky, the temperature a perfect 72 degrees. In the

distance is a beautiful clubhouse. Standing in front

of it his dad... and thousands of other Republicans who

had helped him out over the years: Karl Rove, Dick

Cheney, Jerry Falwell... . The whole of the "Right" was

there... everyone laughing... happy... . casually but

expensively dressed. They run to greet him, hug him,

and reminisce about the good times they had getting

rich at expense of the "suckers and peasants". They

play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster

and caviar.

The Devil himself comes up to Bush with a frosty

drink, "Have a Margarita and relax, Dubya!"

"Uh, I can't drink no more, I took a pledge," says

Junior, dejectedly.

"This is Hell, son: you can drink and eat all you want

and not worry, and it just gets better from there!"

Dubya takes the drink and finds himself liking the

Devil, who he thinks is a really very friendly guy who

tells funny jokes and pulls hilarious nasty pranks,

kind of like a Yale Skull and Bones brother with real

horns.

They are having such a great time that, before he

realizes it, it's time to go. Everyone gives him a big

hug and waves as Bush steps on the elevator and heads

upward.

When the elevator door reopens, he is in Heaven again

and St. Peter is waiting for him. "Now it's time to

visit Heaven," the old man says, opening the gate.

So for 24 hours Bush is made to hang out with a bunch

of honest, good-natured people who enjoy each other's

company, talk about things other than money, and treat

each other decently. Not a nasty prank or frat boy

joke among them; no fancy country clubs and, while the

food tastes great, it's not caviar or lobster. And

these people are all poor, he doesn't see anybody he

knows, and he isn't even treated like someone special!

Worst of all, to Dubya, Jesus turns out to be some

kind of Jewish hippie with his endless 'peace' and 'do

unto others' jive. "Whoa," he says uncomfortably to

himself, "Pat Robertson never prepared me for this!"

The day done, St. Peter returns and says, "Well, then,

you've spent a day in Hell and a day in Heaven. Now

choose where you want to live for eternity. "

With the 'Jeopardy' theme playing softly in the

background, Dubya reflects for a minute, then answers:

"Well, I would never have thought I'd say this -- I

mean, Heaven has been delightful and all -- but I

really think I belong in Hell with my friends. "

So Saint Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down.

The doors of the elevator open and he is in the middle

of a barren scorched earth covered with garbage and

toxic industrial waste. . kind of like Houston. He is

horrified to see all of his friends, dressed in rags

and chained together, picking up the trash and putting

it in black bags. They are groaning and moaning in

pain, faces and hands black with grime. The Devil

comes over to Dubya and puts an arm around his

shoulder.

"I don't understand," stammers a shocked Dubya,

"Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and

a clubhouse and we ate lobster and caviar... drank

booze. We screwed around and had a great time. Now

this place looks miserable!"

The Devil looks at him, smiles slyly, and purrs,

"Yesterday we were campaigning; today you voted for us. "

the only thing wrong with this joke is that it describes the tactics of both parties anymore, used to be just the democratic brand of campaigning but the republicans finally sunk to their tactics since lies were proving more effective than the truth
