"On Disabling timing on EZ's and Clones"

Rather than e-mailing them you might want to give them a call. Last time I e-mailed them it took a week to reply so now I'll just call when I have a question. It does make you wander with the timing issue because I was going to try towing this summer with the box on 1X5 but now I don't know.

Did Cliffman put the pyro on number 6 and if so is he seeing a difference in egt's? Jarsong I hope I don't come off sounding like a smarta$$ at least I hope you don't take it that way :)

Called and talked to Edge. Person referred me to the "Dodge Expert" who didn't have an answer for me. He did say however he thought the DD TTPM had some special jumper config. I went to their site and did actually find, of all things a "Timing Only" setting. S My Edge EZ Clone is coming off and being sold for a boost fooler and injectors.

Just got back from May Madness a week ago. Went easy on her going there but coming back I pushed her to 1200 degs while pulling my 5er. EGT's on #6 were 100-125 higher while pulling 15K 5er @1200 on the pyro. So, the average on 4, 5 and 6 was 1200 and #6 was running at 1325. I was surprised at the difference. I thought it would be higher but happy to see it only @ 1325. :)

You might want to read the following trimetal bearing publication from Clevite. Note the reference on page 2 to normal wear of the overlay layer and exposure of the copper-lead (aka bronze) intermediate layer.

And, yes, advancing timing will lead to higher peak firing pressures which will lead to higher rod bearing wear in the 10:00 to 2:00 areas. Exposure of the copper-lead intermediate layer is not, however, in and of itself necessarily a sign of impending doom. Rather, it will eventually happen over the normal life of a trimetal bearing as the soft overlay layer wears away.

Rusty, I know this was a long time ago but... Are these the guys who make the rod bearings for the ISB-5. 9???
