RV Photo Of The Year !!!

I recently acquired a CD writer/re-writer... Actually, got it for Christmas.

What I am wondering, is what software you can use to copy cd's such as games? My kids have a habit of destroying their game CD's by forgetting to put them away, or stacking them up, or dropping or... . You get the picture. I'd like to make a working copy and store the original away safely. I've bought Monopoly 3 times already... don't want to do it again.

The software that came with my Sony CD burner seems fine for most operations, but it refuses to copy whole cd's of my kid's games.

Maybe my technique is wrong... I've never actually used a burner before. . But the software that came with it is called Sony CD extreme. Seems rather slow, as well. The burner burns the files quick, but the software takes forever to load and start working.

It could be that you have bad blanks. Some blank do not burn well. Also you can try to burn them slower. Sometimes max speed makes a cd that is hard for the cdrom to read. This can resalt in a slow running program. You may also try to use cd mate and nero. Thay are really good copy programs. Easy cd creator used to be good but is very unstalbe in the past few versions. So I would stay away from it. The one you mentioned I have used awhile ago but not latly. It seemed good then but still not my favorite. Nero and cd mate are downloadable (and crackable if that is your thing. ). You can also ICQ me if you need help or have problems locating them. ICQ 32224781 Good luck.

I tell you about one thing thats cool. There's a site, I believe its called Chipzone.com They make a chip that you install in a Playstation I or II, that allows you to copy game CD's with a cd burner and use them in your playstation. My son did it and it works great. Funny thing is, Sony upgrades their games so they can tell you have a modified board, then Chipzone upgrades their chips. It goes back and forth. Works great, just be carefull soldering in that chip. You'll need a very fine tip soldering pen, and maybe even an experienced person to do the soldering. They sell the chips for about $10. 00.

Nero burning rom and gamecopyworld.com should get you started. Piece of cake with a few minutes worth of reading.

Don~

I was reffering to copying pc games. If it is for a playstation DMcClellan is right you will need to add a chip to the playstation to run the copys.

Don M beat me to the punch...

ditto on his post

One other thing... you can save the receipt and the manufacturers will supply you with a new disk if you send the old one in (look for the details in the user agreement/warranty area)

nero is good....

Nero is a good progam, but the computers in the lab at school, plus the new computer I got came with a program called Roxio. It is a good one too I think. I can burn you a copy if you would like.
