I have lifted every truck I have own since I was 16. Belonged to many 4wheel clubs over the years and witnessed many different style lifts. To me re-arcing old springs, I found that they would settle alot over time and I even had one set of spring crack while wheelin. Leaf springs only have so much life in them before get fatigued, saggy and mushy. You do put extra stress on springs when getting them re-arced which also shortens their life span.
If you want to lift the back of you truck just a little I would go with an add-a-leaf. When I did this to my 96 dodge it did not make the ride too harsh. The stance looked good when I was finished as well with a 2 inch leveling kit in the front.
This is JMHO,
