I have lifted every truck I have own since I was 16. Belonged to many 4wheel clubs over the years and witnessed many different style lifts. To me re-arcing old springs, I found that they would settle alot over time and I even had one set of spring crack while wheelin. Leaf springs only have so much life in them before get fatigued, saggy and mushy. You do put extra stress on springs when getting them re-arced which also shortens their life span.

If you want to lift the back of you truck just a little I would go with an add-a-leaf. When I did this to my 96 dodge it did not make the ride too harsh. The stance looked good when I was finished as well with a 2 inch leveling kit in the front.

This is JMHO,

I was looking today and the truck doesn't sit level left to right either... left is about 1" lower.

Where could I get new spring packs from???

Rock your head over to one side the next time you look at it :)

If it is truely level, it will look low in the rear... Most of this is the roofline Rake with was designed with aerodynamics and a rake in mind.

Also... the street trucks with the rear end low... It started out as "dynamic suspension trucks" (for street trucks. . the ethinic crowd does it to their gangsta' cars too)

as a way to let people know it has airbags (not helper bags) or hydrualics. All these other people think its cool to mimic though and crank the torsion bars or do whatever when they have a static drop. Nine times out of ten it's a nissan or toyota sitting like that and some punk driving. It's a diservice to the ones that take the time to build something special when everone else' hack job is making it look bad. Kinda like stacks in a gasser. :D

Anyway... Helper springs or bags. . or 305's will help the look.

Going back to this thread.

I was planning on getting airbags. What I was wondering though, when I fill the air bags up some to get the back a little higher, will it make the suspension stiffer?

I guy I work with has a truck like mine, only no leveling kit and stock tires. I parked next to him and the front on my truck is a bit higher, and the back is about 1-1. 5" lower... so I know the springs have sagged some.

I tried finding junkyard springs, but with little luck. I was looking for the 3500 springs, since I'm told the 2500HD bascially uses 3500 springs. I can find 2500 spring all day long, but I'm afraid they mind be the lower weight rating ones (7500lbs?) or sagged like mine. I might just call around on Monday and see what a custom set of springs would cost and not put airbags.

I have steel coil spacers on an otherwise stock suspension. Front sits about 1/2" lower than the rear, still

Seems that every truck is different, just like some have the DW and some don't. Some with D25s are level, some front end high; my previous 01. 5 was perfectly level with the same coil spacers ...
