I'm looking at a RAM 3500 DRW with MSRP of 85,845 and an advertised price of 73,804. Which is about 14% off MSRP.

Does anyone have any idea if I might reasonably get a deal paying somewhat less than that, for such a truck?

I would personally be fine with that if it's real and not click bait with a bunch of rebates that you could never qualify for at the same time.

Depends on the rebates they are coming up with to get to that number, the employee pricing alone right now can be as high as $8500 maybe higher not sure, lot a places won't put that on their sites it's all call now crap, I'm seeing that rebate in the high $8k for $65k trucks, then maybe if you have any available conquest $ if you have another make at home vs loyalty for a FCA in the house. Those need to be newer vehicles sometimes within 10 years, It really is driven alot by rebates anymore.

Really have to do your homework on the rebates and financing restrictions for said rebates. Usually cant get both super low finance and really high rebates.

I would find a place that has a few of what your looking for and you pull the stock numbers and window stickers and have them quote out all 3 for you. And know up front what to expect and see if they meet expectations or surprise you.

Sometimes you cant see exactly how long that vehicle has been sitting on the lot, look at the stock number vs something in transit or a 2020 anything, the stock number normally go in order. It helps to pick some that have been sitting at times. Other times they dont care because FCA does these really funky number games with their sales figures.

Then you can always do some place like Dave Smith who is a giant dealer and have them work up a internet quote and see what they come up with for you.

Good luck on your search. Be informed on what you want and don't want before going in.

At that $$$ I hope Factory Rear Air is included.

As I mentioned to you on the other forum that is a good price but have them throw in a 7/120 MaxCare Warranty.

Sounds about par with what I've seen here in NorCal. $12 to $14k off window sticker and there were a few extra rebates thrown in on top of the deal like if your a brand loyalty returning buyer, leaving another brand first time buyer or own a business buyer. I'd see if I could get them down to $72k. I would 100% get a FCA factory extended warranty, MaxCare 8/125 is good if you plan on keeping it that long. Online you can get a genuine 8/125 MaxCare FCA warranty with a $200 deductible for $3235.00... The same with a $100 deductible is $3500 and the zero deductible plan is $4195. Ask them if they can match it... Those prices are pretty good.

I had the 8/125 on my 06 and it paid for itself the fourfold. Now with my 2019... Who knows if I'll need it or not BUT.... It's nice knowing your covered. Especially with all this electronics integration and emissions equipment.

Well, I finally got it all dialed in as to what I wanted. And, struck a deal. $86,645 MSRP $74,621 DEAL and no quibbling on getting good value for my trade. It's not a "steal" but considering that there isn't one other truck that we want, with the features we want, and the colors we want within about 400 miles, I'm ok with that.

In fact, my local dealer is trading a vehicle for the truck I want with a dealership that is over 300 miles away. So, it's ok - we get the truck we want (which is rare!) at a very reasonable, if not crazy, low price. We don't have to go anywhere, they are bringing the truck to us (riding on another truck).

It's a Longhorn, MEGA Cab, Dually, 1000 ft lb engine/Aisin, Auto level air-suspension, dual alternators, Towing Technology Group, prepped for 5th wheel, 360º cameras, Harmon Kardon 17-speaker sound system, 12" UConnect, Black and Tan interior, Cold Weather group, yada, yada, yada.

These photos are not of my exact truck, but are essentially clones of the one I'm buying - they're illustrative of the colors, features, etc.

It's essentially a Limited, but with a much cooler looking interior - and a sleeker, cleaner looking grill.

I'm trading in a 2019 RAM 1500 Limited pickup that I've had for a year and a half, so I already really know the truck. I will feel right at home from the first minute behind the wheel.

We're kind of bored with all-black interiors anymore, so this one really appeals to us - visually.

Kind of a "Cowboy Cadillac"

The only thing I could do without are the "belt buckles" on the pockets behind the front seats. But I'll never see them from where I sit, so "oh well". No big deal.

The rear seats in the Mega Cab provide an incredible amount of space and fold flat up high, or down low. Our two pit bull/healer mix pups will be riding in style back there!

All the bells and whistles! The wood is real. The leather is real. Ram really did this one UP! Should be fun for daily excursions, as well as pulling a 5er.

I just bought one like that.

Grill doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy yet! Really don't like the badge that's recessed into the side of the hood. Can't simply remove it as it would leave an indented area.

garthom5 congrats! Hope you have a nice B&W hitch to go with it.

Nice rig!! Congrats!

Your going to love it, I've had mine near 2 months now and every time I drive it I still can't believe how nice it is. I've owned a 2004.5 2500 CC, 2006 2500 MC and a 2018 2500 MC... These 2019's are very well refined and dialed in. Even more so....Once you find the magic numbers for the tire pressures it will feel like a magic carpet.

Enjoy!

PS: Did you get a MaxCare warranty?

I could live without the emblem on the hood. But it doesn't bother me.

The grill... to my eyes, that's the best-looking front-end, of any recent year truck, by any maker, I've ever seen! :)

PS: Did you get a MaxCare warranty?

Truck hasn't arrived yet, so that's an option to consider when we sit down with the F&I guy. We don't usually keep vehicles beyond the factory warranty period - but is the MaxCare warranty something we should have, for sure?

Can it be purchased later? What is the most that we should pay for it?

You have 3 years or 36k miles to buy the extended warranty.... It does go up in price as time goes on though. Honestly... I can't see you getting rid of it before then unless you're the type who always wants/needs the latest and greatest.... I'll be driving mine until at least October 2027 or 125k. Also, with the recent changes to the 6.7 engine.... An extended warranty may be a very wise decision. Even you you do buy MaxCare and then sell it 3 years from now private party..... You can transfer the warranty to the new buyer.

My dealer matched the price I found from the above link with out a problem.

Nice truck, glad your deal worked out enjoy when you get it.

MaxCare can be bought on line as well thru any FCA dealer, just google it and see the results, lots of options there, so no need to over buy, get some quotes on line and see how that stacks up when you walk in. Some finance folks have options to price match, others sell at a preset mark up and dont really care of its higher. Also might be able to refund the unused if you dont pass it on, just read the bottom it goes all of it.

Take your truck to an independent alignment shop. Tell them you want the Toe set to 1/64". If you do not do so within just a few thousand miles you WILL see outer edge front tire Stepping. Spec is 1/4".

Every 15k rotate the front tires ONLY. Move fronts side to side with rotation the same leaving the wheels in the same position.

This may be a bit painful but I Highly advise removing the POS Korean Made NEXEN tires and sell them on CL. I did so at 200 miles and sold the POS tires first call for $650. Reason for doing this??? The POS tires will start to give you tread separation at around 25k.

I went with the Michelin's with ZERO issue!

Use ONLY OE filters. Mopar, FleetGuard and RACOR. If ya wanna better oil filter go with the AMZ/OIL or Donaldson.

Dump the rear and front GL at around 2k, it's CRAP. Run AMZ/OIL SevereGear 75-110 rear and 75-90 front.

Well......this seems to not qualify as ZERO to me, not sure about the remaining membership’s thoughts...

I was VERY clear that I did have some to do with the tries only getting 40K but yes they were NOT up to the standard I have come to expect. They DID give me $106 X 6 tires to spend on any brand tire I chose. I bought the re designed Defender and I can say for a fact with only 13K on them they will far outlast the last set at 40K.

BTW I would easily get 120K on 3rd gen take offs on my 98 2500 with Michelins and easily over 100K with the BFG's.

Yes you are correct but they gave me a great warranty credit go over $600. Basically paid for 1/2 of the next Michelins that now have 30k on them with 8/32" tread left. Fact is most are lucky to get 40k. They had a batch that did not last as long as usual but are fine now.

Looks like my prediction at 13k stating they would far outlast the 40k tires is coming true.

Bottom line get rid of the NEXENS!

GS, no comment on the AMZ/OIL suggestion???
