My opinion is that with the electronic age, dealers NEED to evolve and that is not evident around this part of the country. I spoke with several large dealers in my area at the RV show and actually visited several to hone in on what we wanted. They all talked a good game but fell short on delivery dates and more importantly PRICE. At the RV show, they were quoting me costs of nearly 10K over the Internet deal I got and 12-14 week delivery intervals.
Skip forward a few weeks: I have the trailer ordered and started shopping for a hitch. Again, I purchased a hitch online out of Texas with shipping included for nearly $400 less than my local "factory direct Reese dealer" did.
He was profiting over $100 alone on the truck hitch. NO, install either.
I haven’t actually used my warranty, but from the information provided from both the manufacturer and the dealer I can go to one of over 3000 dealers in the US for warranty related service with just an 800# phone call to the manufacturer to arrange that.
I truly try to support my local economy but when we are talking 10's of thousands, that is where I call it off
