bypass oil hoses

I am in the process of installing a Racor LFS802 back behind the transfer case on the cross rail. I am looking for some info on hose sizes for the project. The hydraulic shop recommended-4 since the plug on the oil pump is1/8 thread. Racor recommends nothing less than1/4. Would I be better off with a larger size because of the length saya-6 or stick with a-4 (1/4) size . the truck is an 05, thanks

I think the 802 is designed for a larger engine than ours hence the larger line size recommendation. The Racor spec page has a dimension on the orifice size for that filter which is somewhat less than the ID of a -4 hose. And it is a big jump to -6. You should be fine with -4 for a bypass setup.
