C Series Repower Finished

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Look what the Dodge drug home!

5.9 cummins for $2500?

Yes, but the question is, which one. I've been looking for a cowl induction type of hood for my ''87' FORD for some time. No luck so far, but just about ready to mount a fiberglass one to my original steel hood.

Backroad with a wannabee F**Ked over rebuilt dodge.

C Series Man.

Are you still with us?

Any new observations to this project now that you have been running it for awhile?

I've been waiting to see it finished!

Very nice C-Series-Man!!! :D :D :D

I agree, how about a complete write-up in the TDR magazine???

C-Series, You can be proud of your work!! Quite an undertaking!! I am sure that you will suprise a few un-suspecting Hot Shots. In about 1971, I took a stock 40 hp. '64 VW bug and shoehorned a '65 Porsche 115 HP. SC engine in to it. We left the car looking stock and would give the V8 boys a whipping! Lots of fun. Chris

I figure he's having to much fun driving it to get to the computer. I definately wouldn't want to see that rig in my rear view mirror! Nice job of systems integration!:D

The only thing I want to know is how he welded up the new subframe in the front... . TIG, MIG, stick, submerged arc, oxy-acetylene and some coathanger, Kentucky Windage..... ?? :D

Matt - always interested in welding.

You have done some really envious fabrication and development, it is a very impressive installation.

I am curious as to how much additional weight you think the truck is carrying, over the weight of the original gas engine and stock transmission. Do you know what the engine weighs, and what the trans weighs?

What have you done to increase the front spring capacity to carry this new engine?

Do you think about going to a Dana 70 in the front, or other larger capacity axle?

thanks for your thoughts...

C SERIES

WHAT A CONVERSION A1 CRAFTSMANSHIP ,HOW MANY MAN HOURS ?I HOPE TO GET A LOOK AT THIS BEAUTY SOMETIME . DIESELS ARE MY FAVORITE SUBJECT. I HAVE A MERCEDES 603 ENGINE TO DO NEXT, MAYBE SOMEDAY A C SERIES CUMMINS

Ford does not own Cummins...

Nice job!

By the way, the most prevelant wrong rumor on the street is that Ford owns a part of Cummins. Ford did buy into Cummins 10-12 years ago, and then sold their shares back. This was back when Cummins built the FD1060 (grey painted Cummins B engines) for Ford. There is no connection today, just a normal business relationship.

That is a very cool setup.

Nice job and I agree there should be a writeup in the TDR about it and to answer all the questions. I have a bunch, but will wait to see if the TDR can get an article written about this.

I would love to have the time and tools to do that kind of thing. I am stuck playing with old John Deere Diesels (model R's). Two cylinders, and 415 cubic inches (6. 8L).
