This past Friday I went to my appointment at the dealer for the (P2607), was there 7-1/2 hours waiting. They had a hard time locating the problem, hence the long time, but was only charged 262 bucks for the repair. They finally spliced in a new wire from the plug on firewall to the solenoid #2.
I did notice a difference with #2 working, they seem to alternate between themselves.
After inspecting the job at home it was not up to my standard. The new wire did not follow the wire loom, just hanging loosely. Also I wanted to know why the problem happened in the first place. So I went through a big job to remove the airbox, battery box to run the loose wire into the wire loom and look for chafing or crush. Everything was virgin, so I removed the cut wire, ohm checked it, continuity, dam. Now I think it comes down to a bad connection on the firewall plug, but the mechanic was going around circles to find the problem. Spliced in the wire which did not fix the problem, went to the plug, disturbed it, systems works. I disconnected the plug to inspect, no corrosion, put is back together and used two tywraps to secure the half's together tight.
All this because of a failed smog test, P2607 code !
