I now have put 555 miles on the truck since the recall reset the system. I still have the HCC and PM Drive Monitors not set. Anybody know what they do and how to turn them on?

What I was trying to convey back in post #3. You can put 55,555 on and if you don't hit the parameters, or cause a one trip, or worse a MIL, you'll never get er done.
If it were mine, I would have done whatever to get the literature and scanner needed to hit my targets. It's sad if you can't get a shop- weather a dealer or indie to pull it off.
I'm willing to bet it can be done within 5 miles with the right knowledge and prep.

In looking at the diesel warranty book that came with my truck, (correct me if I'm wrong) I believe that if it fails the smog, you can bring it to the dealer and they are responsible for the repair and getting it to pass.

An excerpt from the booklet:
"In addition, if your vehicle fails a smog check inspection, FCA US will make all necessary repairs and adjustments to ensure that your vehicle passes the inspection.
Your emission control system may include parts such as the catalytic converter and powertrain control module. Also included may be hoses, belts, connectors and other emission-related assemblies."

Since it is not a failed part or adjustment it is not a warrantable repair.Having said that I had assisted many owners by completeing the monitors by following the tsb recommendations I quoted earlier. On my own time not FCAs or the dealers.Reading the forums on sprinter motor Homes they are in the same boat.

That's a good one Joe.
Elon Musk is releasing his electric semi soon. I can just see the trucks lining up for their recharge. It's the left's war on diesel now.

When the batteries die from CA's lack of electric power infrastructure, rolling blackouts, and sky high electric rates again only when the power's on, these folks will starve to death. An electric golf cart simply can't deliver supplies in the middle of the night. "We will turn the lights off for you." :-laf

A little late to the discussion, but it took me nearly 1000 miles running empty commuting for a few weeks. The other year it took less than 200 miles in two trips, one towing 8k pounds for about 100 miles. just gotta watch the monitors and plan a month ahead...
