Camper + Jeep on trailer

I have a 2005 Laramie 4x4 auto Quad cab Short bed with Kore and 35s.



I am trying to find a slide in pop up camper with toilet/shower inside. I am hoping to find this setup with no more than a 6. 5 ft floor. I have checked outfitter and northstar but their 6. 5 campers dont have inside toilet/shower setups. I am trying to avoid the overhang of a 8 or 8. 5. Any ideas? Is it possible to retrofit? I asked outifitter about custom setup removing the rear dinette seat and closet and placing the head there but they said no. I spoke to northstar and custom sounds like a possibility but i dont know the price yet. northstar did mention that they are building a 6. 5 hardwall with the setup i am looking for. I was hoping to save weight by using a pop up... . not to mention cut down on drag. Any suggestions?



Also, I am hoping to still be able to safely tow my jeep on an aluminum flat trailer.



I plan to install airbags, and sway bar if necessary... . does anyone have experience with a trailer/auto and camper?

Lance Camper makes a full line of short campers. A bit spendy though...

I have no personal experience with this line but a friend had a full size on a Ford and loves it.

I've been considering placing a popup trailer and Jeep on a carhauler trailer. Slidein's don't have enough room for the family.

My buddy has a two place trailer that he hauls his pop up camper and Jeep on. He welded a ball on the front of the trailer and hooks camper on that and then aslo straps it down. Jeep goes on last. Works good for him. Only problem is he has to turn camper on the trailer when he gets to his destination so he has someplace step when exiting camper. He pulls it with an 05 Ford Sooper Duty SRW.

I have an 8ft Lance and a one place trailer to haul my Jeep. So far it has all worked real nice. I have the camper and snow group on truck along with the adjustable Ranchos and so far it has worked well for me...

Does that make your truck, and two trailers close to 50' long? Just checking. Not bashing. That just seems awfully long.

I am kinda in the same quandrie as I want to put a slide in on the front of a 26 foot car trailer and the jeep behind it. I have a tonneu cover on my truck and realy like the extra "trunk" space and not wanting to put a camper on my trucks back... I think a tc with out the3 rear over hang (like a six pac) or small lance with a 8 foot floor and then the Jeep behind it... . I just dont want to look like the Clampets going down the road so I am still thinking about it.

If ya got the money to spend, see if the Jeep would fit in a horse hauler. They have some real nice ones with living quarters in the front and a good bit of room to haul horses in the rear. They do not give them away however!

I have seen some campers that had a deck area built on behind for hauling 4 wheelers, etc. but not big enough for the Jeep. Good luck.

Now that's a nice trailer! I think you would be ok as long as Jeep is not too modified (height & weight).

One thing I noticed about that trailer is that a 3m product holds the alumunum panels but the warranty repair will be rivits? I have an airstream so the rivits don't bother me but why do they build it one way than repair it another?

I would get it weighed before I moved forward with any possible trailer. I sent an email to that trailer company to see if they have a way to increase payload capacity... either by stronger axles or by maybe adding a third axle. Will let you know what I find out.
