The Jury Verdict Is In! NOT Responsible!

Flooding Rains in the North Georgia - SE Tennessee Yesterday took a toll. We are looking forward to more heavy rain Saturday. Picture is Camping World, on I-75 just south of I-24 at the Tennessee-Georgia Line. If this wasn't bad enough, there were about 15 high end motor coaches with water up to the top of the compartment doors. Most of them were Cat and Cummins powered. The real sad part of this, was that last November the same creek flooded, damage was the same. Glad I'm nor their insurance company?

Looks all too familiar.

We had the Great Flood last year. That was a culmination of weeks and months of rain-every-day over a vast area here and upriver from here.

Now, 3 weeks ago, we received up to 13 inches of rain in the Cedar Rapids area in a matter of hours. Not a drop 50 miles away! That's a whole lot a water focused in one small area!! My military Goretex was useless under that deluge. As we say here: "Like a cow p***ing on flat rock!"

My brother's shop, flooded badly last year, was 5 feet under water this time. And it isn't even considered to be in a flood plain. It came down so hard, so fast, that city sewer systems were simply overwhelmed. Even folks who's homes should have stayed dry had their basements filled by backflowing city sewer systems. Streets flowed like rivers.

looks like someone should be able to get some good deals on some campers lol. Wish I had some money and time to pick one up lol.

man thats poor planing on someones part, a few loads of gravel and fill would have saved them a butload of money, oh well i guess someone thought floods were like lightning, never striking in the same place twice

On the other hand...

If you find yourself stuck with too much inventory of a pricey, hard-to-sell, dated item in a depressed economy, it might just be the perfect place to park them...

Saw that picture or one very similar on one of the local news sites this week. Sickening site. I have been into Shipp's (CW) many times when I was working in the area for a while last year. At least the buildings are up higher and probably not flooded. Wonder if it got any campers in the campground section.

All the campers in the campground go out. There as about 6 feet of water in the CG area when this picture was taken. They don't take monthlys anymore so the only long term people were Shipps employees. - - there all here at Holiday on Mack Smith Rd just south of East Ridge. Its probably the only high spot in the area. .
