God bless the dog.

He was a GREAT DOG!!! he even liked me  Jason and I would ride into camp late at night and not a bark one because he knew us, but let any kind of animal come in from the dark!!!! he was all A hole and mouth going after it, he didn't care WHAT or HOW BIG it was he had a bite of it, and wouldn't let go. We had a special harness and neck and chest collar made to protect him from bear bites, one of my Mules kicked the crap out of him when he took a sniff of his jimmy and the mule took offence to it, the dog picked its self up and went around front of the mule and looked at him, as to say THAT'S ALL YOU GOT!!!!!!! Australian cattle dog was one TUFF SOB!! ;)

Good Mule story. We had border collies for some time, but the Australian sounds like he's a bit more than that.

FIL is partial for Border Collies they are one SMART DOG, his is getting old but use to be that FIL could tell him to go get the cow and the dog would run out in a group of 20 or 30 cows and turn and look at FIL, FIL would point to one side or the other and the dog would go that way, then start sorting them out looking back at FIL with everyone that the dog had separated from the group until it figured out that was the one that FIL wanted him to bring in to the holding pen. Smart as Hell dog.

Australian cattle dog is just a very alert dog, tough as nails can run with the horses ALL DAY LONG. without needing help in ANY WAY.

I agree. Our first,we could send out and he'd bring back what you told him to. Horses resisted better than cows. Ruffy was quite something. We had to loose the cattle, and such so the next several dogs, were a bit weird, one ended up killing about 75 chickens, 20 turkeys before she met her end. We figured she had post partum depression. Anyway, Old Ruffy more than made up for the shortcomings of his heirs.

Really im terrified of heights but only if they are at angles like on a roof, I just don't seem to have the balance I did.

Looking at the trail behind yall looks like you stick close to the middle of the flat spot on top of that ridge. That's where I would be too. I don't think I am afraid of heights but when we built a barn several years ago they made me get off the roof said I was shaking it more than they liked. I didn't even know my knees where trembling. Enjoy the time out Big it won't be long till the cold winter is upon us.

Ya but have a NEW AND IMPROVED ADVENTURE when winter comes along!!!!!!!!!!!! :-laf

I have told one Pard but he's more of a Brother than a Pard, some of you said that I should write a book!!! Well just might do that!! With this one! :D

Have had my knee's a knock-in a time or three, but usually involved some kind of LARGE CARNIVORE !!
