Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Camshaft Seal

Can someone help describe how the camshaft is sealed at the rear of the block?? When I rebuilt my engine I think I forgot to put this seal in and now I have an oil leak from the back of the engine. Can this seal be replaced without taking out the cam?? Any special tools needed to install it?? I cant remember putting it in and I am leaking oil in that area.
