I've got a front receiver hitch that mounts under the sway bar much like the DSS unit does and also have a 3rd gen track bar already in place. Any thoughts about getting the DSS unit w/o giving up my front hitch?

P. S. Gotta love that 3rd gen track bar fix. I was tired of replacing that OEM unit.

Might be possible, but it kind of sounds like a bad idea. If the front receiver moves any at all, you are ultimately transmitting movement into your pitman arm. That is what the dss is trying to eliminate.

I wouldn't

I have a plow frame on the front of my Ram and the 3rd gen track bar bracket wouldn't fit with it on. So I'm going with a Thuren bar and already have the DSS kit on as well. Also, you won't be transmitting force to the pitman arm, but the sector shaft on your steering box, which is WAY worse!!!

Front receiver

When I first got my truck,I had a Cummins tech weld me a receiver hitch/recovery point up front. He welded onto the frame rails and bridged the gap between with 2" boxed material. Little did he/I know that this would accomodate future steering enhancements. Sometimes you win! :)

yes they will work together ...

i had a hidden hitch on the front of mine for the last two years ...

just took the hitch off last weekend to weld up a nice front bumper ...

the hitch actually seemed to improve the handling ... seemed to tighten the front end

Frame flex

Seems like I saw a post somewhere on here a while back about the DSS causing problems if the truck is driven offroad on terrain that is uneven enough to cause the frame to flex significantly. Something about the DSS bracket shifting and moving the sector shaft, causing the bushing or bearing in the steering box to be crushed? Anybody remember/know anything about what I'm talking about? It seems like a front reciever hitch might help stiffen up the frame a bit and prevent that flex. Just a thought.
