Hi guys, I apologize ahead of time if this is a dumb question but is it possible to keep the stock fuel filter if I were to buy a Fass titanium series pump? I've searched but I haven't been able to find a definite answer if I can keep it and that's the one thing holding me back from purchasing it. Thank you ahead of time for any and all answers.

*edit* here's a link to the pump for clarification purposes: http://www.fassride.com/detail/fuel-air-separation-systems/fass-titanium-series/titanium-dodge-ram-cummins/95-gph-dodge-cummins-1998-1999-2000-2001-2002-2003-2004.php

Yes, just plumb the FASS to the OE filter housing and you are good to go. If you are doing the FASS for more fuel flow disconnect the factory lines and upgrade the line form the FASS to the OE housing for better results.

Any specific reason for doing the Titanium vs the Platinum series? Do you truly need all the extra fuel flow or just searching for a solution?

FYI, if you want the FASS to live longer and have less issues a replacement fuel tank canister with 1/2 pickup lines is highly recommended.

I'm just searching for a solution, I thought their titanium line was the only pump/filter combo that they offered. I was going to get their 95gph standalone pump and run a remote dual fuel filter setup but the problem with that is that the pump would be pre filter and I wouldn't want to fry it.

*edit*
I'm currently piecing together what additional pieces I would need to plum in 1/2" fuel line and it looks like I just need the adapter block to go where the original lift pump was and a 1/2"suction tube kit I believe.

Just make sure if you run over about 30lbs of fuel pressure you will need a billet cap for the stock filter housing.

Looks like the platinum is discontinued so the Titanium is the logical choice. With 1/2 lines on the suction side you should be good. Keeping the OE filter housing and using the available 5 um filter in it should give you good filtration.

This is what you want http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/product.aspx?pf_id=0511-FTSM.

While it is for an 05+ to remove the in-tank pump it should work fine on the earlier years. Check with vendor to make sure though.

If you want to use your existing canister then this would work also http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/product.aspx?pf_id=14FPA. Use this for the fuel pickup and route the return back to the factory pickup line. The idea is to keep the pickup and return in the canister to keep flowing with low fuel scenarios. The bulk head fittings and draw straws are notorious for causing low fuel level issues due to the lack of baffling in the tank.

My 04.5 has the pump mounted on the factory filter housing. I bought the titanium 150 and it plumbs into the factory supply line on the top of the tank. I bypassed the factory canister. I asked fass about plumbing it into the factory filter and did not recommend it because it may create a ristriction. I have read where others have done this with no problems, but I would imagine to be coverd under warranty it would need to be installed per their instructions. just my .02

There is no restriction in the factory canister, the lines are by far a bigger restriction than anything. There should be no warranty issues because the relief valve is on the FASS pump itself so any lack of flow thru the filter is just returned to the tank. To claim it may create a restriction then assume it effects warranty is silly. The design of the system negates anything like that. By far, the pickup side is the worst issue and will cause problems if not addressed correctly.

I was just curious if I would need anything else besides the 95gph kit and the canister assembly I got from glacier. I know Fass offers a billet adapter that bolts on the back of the stock canister where the factory lift pump is. I can't afford to have the truck down for more than a weekend waiting on parts I may have forgotten to order.

If you can get the billet fitting for the fuel filter housing get the largest one they have and plumb 1/2 inch line from the FASS to the housing. That will mitigate any restrictions there are.
