Can mechanical throttle cable be used on G3?

Wondering about a dash mounted mechanical cable on new 04. Would it hook up same as 02? Anybody done this? geusterman

the new truck dont use throttle cables they are drive by wire. .

They are a hybrid. There's a cable to an "accelerator pedal position sensor" (APPS) under the hood.

There is absoutly nowhere to hook the cable up on the other end. No injection pump, just smart injectors with electric solinoids on them.

Good grief Charlie Brown, Look under the hood sometime. The early versions have a throttle cable linked to a bell crank on the motor where the Injection pump used to be. Later versions have the bell crank located under the left side battery. Kick down cables for the automatic are still connected to the bell crank as is the cruise cable. As long as we have a 727 based automatic transmision, we'll likely have a bell crank that a manual engine speed contral can be fashioned to.
