Can you get a stock steering coupler from NAPA/Carquest?

I need to fix a truck this weekend, and don't have time to wait for a borgeson to get here. Are stock couplers available from autoparts stores? Does anyone know the Dodge # so I don't have to explain to the dealer what I need?

For a quick fix, you can disassemble the coupler, and flip the internal square thingies with the hole in the center. This should tighten up your steering til the Borgeson can arrive.

Are you sure about your steering box? They develop slack as well.

Quite sure, I've always heard about slack in the coupler and have never had a problem w/ one... until this truck.

Just make sure when you swap the ends of the coupler internals that it hasnt already been swapped. I did that in Mom's truck, and tried it out before reinstalling the shaft, and it was WORSE, so I re-swapped it. It had been swapped, and wore out a second time.

I know the Borgesons are good units, but I can't see spending $200 on something I drive 3 or 4k a year. I spent the $30 at the dealer and replaced all the coupler parts. Got 10k on now, still tight!
