I got a guy arguing with me about this and I want to make sure I got my facts straight. He says only gassers made in USA,I thought you could still get a Cummins equipped rig from here also???Doug

All 3500s come from Saltillo Mexico. You may get 2500s from St Louis North (Quad Cab) or Dodge City Michigan (Reg Cab) depending on plant allocation.

mine was made in mexico along with the 3500's. i think all the h. o. 's are made in mexico because of the bigger rear ends. 11. 5's. ????? ??????

I remember reading somewhere that all vin numbers that start with 1 are made in US, sold in Canada. All 2's are made in Canada and sold in the US. All 3's are made in Mexico and sold in US and Canada.

That's why my 97 that started with 1 was made in the US, sold in Canada and had the day time running lights.

There are plenty of trucks made in the US that are sold in the US. If you have a 1500, odds are great it's from St Louis North.

there are no Ram plants in Canada, so you will never see a 2 in the first VIN position. The only plants are:

- Dodge City, Warren Michigan - 1500 and 2500 Regular cabs

- St Louis North, Fenton Missouri - 1500 and 2500 Quad cab

- Saltillo Assembly, Saltillo Mexico - some 1500s/2500s, all 3500s, all SRT-10s, all cabs

Saltillo also produces all Rams for the Mexico market. All three plants can build Canadian-spec vehicles.

hmm that would be cool if a cummins slipped in a srt-10... . thats what they should have used... . instead of that v-10 poop they should have dropped in a TT cummins. . w/ 500 hp around 1000 ft/lbs and a trans that could handle that..... i would buy it. .

Mine speaks Spanish also, I have finally taught it enough English to get along!

I am glad it came from there, have heard gripes about the US of A made ones

My truck was made in Mexico. It has, by far, the best fit and finish of any of my 3 CTD's. The engine was made in the USA (or at least some of it was). My son's 1500 HEMI was made in the USA and, I believe, the engine was made in Mexico. There is nothing wrong with the quality of the trucks made south of the border. There may be other issues, such as jobs, unions, etc. , but in any case, I would not worry about getting a Mexican truck vs: a truck with a 1 in the VIN. Start looking around in any vehicle and it looks like the United Nations:rolleyes:.

What ever happened to that statement on all window stickers stating the percentage of USA parts in vehicles? Was'nt it a law?
