I'm planning to wire in some rear aux. lights. I've decided to tap into the stock cargo lamp (shares housing with 3rd brake light). I'll use a relay of course. I don't like to have a bunch of switches; that's why I want to tie into an existing switch. Has anyone else tried this? Which wire did you tap into?

Thanks

Hey, that's a pretty good idea (although I prefer having as many switches as possible).

You should be able to tap into whichever wire is the (+) feed on the cargo lamp circuit for your relay.

Do you need to know where to find the cargo lamp wires?

I would be tempted to leave the stock cargo lite wiring and switch alone and run a new switch and feed from batt to avoid the can buss computer wiring mess that dodge has used on these trucks. It may cost you a new power control module $$$ or worse if you get a short in those new lights.
