HRT of Canada finished 4th in Stock Full and was running a KORE designed suspension . Yes, they did finish nearly two hours faster than a lime green, Class 8 Dodge affiliated with Carli. A truck that could use aftermarket control arms, lightened fiberglass body panels, and a much lighter hemi engine. HRT's Cummins never skipped a beat.

RPM offroad has been designing custom shocks for this years race for almost a year now. They have competition experience in the monster truck circuit. We thought it was awesome that they built there own shocks. We have been getting updates from them ever since they started. It takes a lot of work to do what they did, and team KORE applauds the effort.

The Greers class 8 truck is a beautiful race truck originally built by Walker Evans. The Greers were teamed up with KORE for this years Baja1000 for a better combined effort to win a tough, logistically challenging race. It paid off and they ended up winning class 8.

KORE's own Stock Full effort ended around race mile 875. 5 minutes out of first place over half way through the race, and a race ending transmission failure hit us. We were very fast up until that point. We will be back, and even faster.

Bad hombres indeed.

Somebody needs to come up with a "force field" to ward off the new breed of desperados who are wreaking havoc on the tourists and racers alike lately down there . I've become accustomed to the occasional"mordida experience" after forty years of Baja journeys, but there's a new kid in town and he isn't messing around. My username is really a misnomer as I rarely go anymore. Daytime travel exclusively and the wife says she's staying home. Enter "Bullets Over Baja" in the search window. Scary stuff. :{ Congratulations to all the competitors! You guys rock!

I believe that McMillian posted something along these lines, asking SCORE to step up and fix this problem.

We stopped going down to Mexico after the 2005 Baja 500. That was the year Honda had a truck/trailer stolen at gun point. The Baja 1000 the same year ended with 2 Trophy Truck Teams stopped at the end of the race with M16's pointed down the windshield. They passed a cop on the road during the race, speeding was eledged but video puts that alligation into question.

Andy Mcmillan, Over-all Winner of the 1000 last year with Robby Gordon, had a shot gun pointed at him before the race in a "slow" non-shots fired drive by. Their trailer was stolen in a totally different incident 2 days later at gun point. The Hall Family; a 16yr old Kid his Sister and their Parents, were towing the trailer after the race and were kidnapped and stuffed into sleeping bags. The story was on Rick Roberts AM Radio show in San Diego the following week. Here's the heart wrenching story by Mrs. Hall.

60 kidnapped Americans are still missing in Mexico, more than the # kidnapped in Iraq according to Glen Beck

But I'm an alarmist so don't fret... We'll be racing Trophy Lite in the USA for the 2008 season. Who wants to pit for us?

This post was a little off topic, but I'm sure Carli and the gang appreciate the free bump.

Link,no worky!

Link's not working for me. I really don't want to dwell on it anymore, anyway. After the Tecate police force extorted $235. 00 from me three years ago for"running the stop sign in front of the police station",I called it quits on taking my vehicle down there. Recently, however, I accompanied my buddy in his '07 in order to test his Carli setup. Everything went smooth,no problems, and the suspension system worked really well. It was the weekend of the "winds from hell' which produced "brownouts" south of Ensenada. I couldn't blame it on the cops this time. The CNN session on the Zetas and feds. is particularly troubling though.
