Planning on installing SPYNTECH lock out hubs and thaught I'd do the ball joints at the same time. Had a few questions - called Spyntech and got my questions answered by Matt. He even gave me his cell # incase I am having any problems this weekend.

CARLI - much different. Called twice with questions but only get an answering machine. I leave a message but don't get a call back.

I don't know much about ball joints, but the upper is not a "ball" joint. It is a stud in a sleave. It can rotate but not swivel. Instructions say to unscrew the cap and remove the "pin" before installing, then grease everything put it back together. They mention greasing an "O" ring - there isn't an "O" ring. What are the torque specs for the cap - can't find out. How about the ball joint studs - ditto.

The lower stud is not protected from dirt etc. There is no cover or shield. Maybe it doesn't need one but I can't find out.

Thinking seriously about delaying the project and getting other ball joints. Have serious doubts about CARLI.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Bill

Well Bill, after reading many others plights about CARLI and communications/return calls, I think they give you a lifetime warranty because it takes a lifetime to hear back from them.

SORRY to hear you are at this point with them and now they are holding up your project.

I was considering going with the CARLI ball joints when the time comes that my truck needs them, but with every post about this kind of nonsense, I think I will go with one of the others. Maybe you need to ask Matt at Spyntech whose ball joints they recommend?

Funny how some of these smallish vendors blow off customer interaction so much. I've had the same results with a couple of vendors lately, namely DDP and Mads/Smarty. Called or Emailed and got no response. On the other hand I had great response from GDP and TC Diesel. It's just hit and miss.

I believe they are in the middle of moving. I've never had a problem getting someone to answer the phone. Regardless, they should have gotten back to you by now.

As far as their balljoints go,I believe they are backordered.

Finally got a call back from Shawn, at Carli, while I was out today. He left the info I was asking for. I called them back to say thanks and got a real person (after a few min. ). Guess I'll go ahead with the tear down & install this weekend.

I am one of those friends!:D I am absolutely enamored with them. My OEMs were trashes at 15K... I never have to worry about them again.

I, too, have been trying to reach them to no avail. Phone calls just go to endless directory loop.

Hit 0 when the recording starts and it will take you to the receptionist. Unfortunately they receive and enormous amount of phone calls and they are a relatively small operation. They recently moved into a bigger facility and are still ironing out things like the phone system and email system. Hopefully this will give them the room to hire a few more guys but I can tell you that finding good help these days is a huge challenge.

I'm amazed to hear that. Sage is a top flight guy and his products are killer. I got 15K on my 2. 65 system with upper and lower ball joints and control arms and sway bar and I have not had one hickup yet. works flawless on my 06 Quad Dually 4X4. tows with confidence and off roads like never before. I have a 500 pounds in winch and bumper on the front and there is zero sag in the suspension. Every time I ever called Sage in his old shop I got him. moving a shop is no easy business and I am 100% certain when he gets settled it will be business as usual again. I would bet my bottom dollar on it.

Yup,

Those are some of the downsides of building a great product and having awesome customer service. In situations like that the demand grows faster than the company can react. Sage has added a few excellent employees over the last last year but was quickly outgrowing the old facility. They just moved into a building twice the size to make things more efficient and add some room for some more support personell in the future.

the only thing I want more than what I have is his new long arm 6 inch lift. at the time it was only a thought and now it's reality. Guess all wait for the new system when I get a new ride in another few years. I need to post some pics of my truck. I think it would meet every ones approval. just added a new SRT-10 hood and chassis cab fender flairs up front. looks killer.

The timing couldn't be more perfect. Here is the latest blog post on Carli's site:

Dodge Ram Suspension News and Latest Company Updates from Carli Suspension, Inc: The Carli Suspension Team

Hopefully it is not against the rules on here to post this and if it is I am sorry.

Sage is waiting on a few more parts to get my 6" 2. 65 ACV radius arm kit out to me. It has been a long road and I have been waiting a year and a half since they first decided to do some form of a 6" version of their kits. In the meantime I had a few systems on my 07 5. 9 Mega and eventually replaced that truck with a 2010 CCSB that the kit will be going on. Oo.

Skyd Ram, U big turrrrrrrrrd. Now I am totally jealous. I don't think I could bear the strain of pictures once you get it done. But post anyway so the rest of us can dream of what's to come in our future. My only question is HOW MUCH??? Oh and I got my truck back yesterday with the New SRT-10 Hood and Chassis 3500 monster fender flairs. It turned out even better than I could have hoped. All post pics. My Dully is Patriot Blue. I have the KMC Rock Star black powder coat rims on it with Nitto Terragrapplers. The Alien Patrol bumpers and 12K winch really finish off the truck nice. Everyone that sees it says it looks like a Transformer.

I called up Carli the other day and ordered the high mount steering staibilzer and the clevis attachment for the Bilstein 7100's that I have. I wanted to order the ball joints but still 8 weeks out. I got a person on the first call, also a nice "made in the USA" sticker on the boxes.

Yeah,

My last pallet of products from Carli had those Made In the USA stickers on most of the boxes. Oo.
