Competition First ever drag race at local strip

Off Roading Off-road lights:

Twisted it right off almost flush.

That is it for me this year. Old wore out street tires are going back on, fuel is getting turned back to a reasonable level, wastegate will be set at 40#. Ok, maybe 50.

Too much carnage after Muncie, too much $$$$. :( :{

I could cut the truck in half with the torches and Johnboy would STILL not catch up.

It is never "just" this part or that part, it will be worse when I get into it.

Are you telling me yokes get weak with age? It may have been overly stressed from the spiders going a few weeeks ago.

Sled Puller,

:( :( Know how you feel about the breakage. You'll need major leverage to remove the pinion nut. I don't have a yoke or rear driveshaft but the guy that I bought my transfercase from had several Dana 70 and 80' laying behind his shop. Let me know if I can be of assistance. Larry

Sled Puller

sorry to hear about your latest :{ , best of luck with your decisions, your stories and advantures were an encouragement to all. Where the sponsors out there. I use to race motor bike when I was younger took every dollar I could spare, I hear you now.

Joe

Gene, sit back and ask yourself if it's that bad, I'm just a dude on the TDR but I like hearing your point's and you pokin fun at Don. Ok here is one, I had computer problems this morning and had to re-format the hard drive and lost the video's of the pulls, but I'm going to down load again just so I can watch that truck of yours in Muncie..... way cool! Don't get too down cause we like it!

Jim

I'm not down on breaking, I'm down on cash!:D

If I don't know when to say when, I'm no different from a crack addict. ----------- I think I will put a patch on-little tires. ;)

Put some lower gears in to make up for the taller tires. That will take some strain off your rearend, ( not yours, your trucks ).

Brad

sleddy---sorry to hear about the yoke and I do understand your plight--the funds do take a beating and when your truck is a daily driver it's even worse---suks big time to break... . chris

Gene,

I sent you a PM. Guess how may pulls it took to take out my "just installed" DHD transfercase and shear the yoke off the Dana 80??:{ :{

Larry

Brad,

That is sound advice-for the rear end.

But, if I go with lower gears in the rear, I will go up a gear in the transmission.

Dana 80's are cheaper than NV 4500s!!

For this year, I either quit, or put small tires on. The tires will be the first step, of a two step program.

BTW, do not talk to Dave Mitchell while you are trying to quit, or even cut buck, he offers you a drink or a toke every time!:D

Well Gene, it looks like you will just have to go with Rockwell 21/2 tons to get the job done :D I mean, at least that way you won't have to fool with the pesky wastegates and fueling :)
