Thank you Bob and Darkhorse for the info/input... I know this will be a slippery, EXPENSIVE slope/CLIFF, but what the heck. . you only live once and you can't take it with you..... may as well get there as quickly as possible. and a little smoke and noise along the way don't hurt either... .

Cowboyup, Marco is layed up with a bad back right now so he is out of the loop and riding the bed right now :(

I will not attempt to offer any input and it is best addressed by marco.

Let all hope that he will be back on his feet shortly :)

Thank you.

67 lbs of ecm sent to marco today. so all ecm's should be back here next week and delivered to all by next Saturday.

As long as Marco is on his feet

just wanted to update

Marco is still layed up in bed and is trying his best to get these done. Marco's health and welfare must come before his reflashes.

I should hear back tomorrow and see how Marco is doing. Back pain is not a good feeling :(

Thanks for undersatanding the circumstances. All will be fine

you have my number

I've been reading this topic and will soon be a buyer.

We need to send a reflash to Marco for his back!!!

I've been thru the back surgery and need more, so I know about what he is going thru.

Get well soon Marco!

Hi guys,

a little update about my back?

Background. I've had three slipped discs ( do you say slipped disc? ) for the last 20 years. The bad part, no surgery on two of them or I could risk the wheel chair. Ops, not good. Been to a lot of doctors, the answer is always the same. Oh well.

The good part is that I'm able to manage them rather well. Last time I had to stay in bed due to a strong pain in my back was ten years ago. Only this time was the strongest pain I've ever had and believe me when I say that I thought I knew what pain is. That went on since Monday of the last week, by Wednesday afternoon I had to leave the shop and get into the bed.

Yesterday I went to a physiotherapist. A lot of people had told me that he's a wonderfull guy. I never believed too much in that kinda therapy. Anyway, since the pain did not seem to lessen... Wifey drove the car, I would not have been able to drive the 30 minute trip on my own. There I'm laying in the wifeys car, three cushions stuffed behind my back and almost unable to get outta the car. You get the picture... :{

To make it short, the guy is a Vietnamese about my age. He massaged my back for about 20 minutes in order to warm up all the muscles . Then made me lay on my left side first right side then. While I was laying on a side he pulled my legs gently as close as he could to my chest. Painfull!!! I was :{

:{ :{ :{

Wouldn't that have happened to me, I'd say it's simply impossible! I stood up the pain was GONE! Well almost, I feel that my back isn't yet completly healed, but hey, I can do anyting I want/need to, while yesterday morning I could not even type on the keyboard

!

Oh Lord, thank you Tuan ( guys name )! Wifey says it's a miracle!

Now guess what I'm doing today? :D :D What was the word? CaTCHER? :-laf

Tomorrow is a holiday here but I'll do my best to get them ECM's out by Friday!

Thanks for all your kind words.

Marco

Excellent x2!!

Marco, glad you're feeling better! I installed my CaTCHER yesterday. It makes a huge difference from my previously stock 01. This thing is cool. I filled the tank yesterday (after "testing" the throttle response :D ) and have been driving for mileage since then. My trip computer is showing about a 3 mpg increase from before the CaTCHER, air intake, and 4" exhaust. I'm going to try to continue for the whole tank so I can do an actual calculation, but so far so great!

DJ

Most likely your MPG will stay the same if you can keep your right foot outta it. The Overhead is more often than not waayyy off with power mods. Get through the tanke and do your math by hand. Then only way to know what's really going on MPG wise.

Marco

Next?

Yeah, I remember reading about that in one of the TSB's as being something for the dealer to check for mods. Speaking of mods, I'm thinking of changing my injectors from stock next, and wondered what your opinion is on the most beneficial mod is for the CaTCHER? Also, at what point should I consider "adjusting" the wastegate? I remember somewhere in this thread you mentioning you raised the boost limit.

DJ

Best mod with the CaTCHER? No doubt, first injectors. Then injectors and after that injectors. :D

Bob or Don M, talk to those guys, they know what injectors work with the CaTCHER and which are not so good. I've found that the better the injector

( higher quality ) then better the power/ overall performance. Stay away from cheapos even if they come from named companies... :rolleyes:

For the boost pressure. You don't need a boost fooler with the CaTCHER. I've taken care of that via the ECM. Sure enough depending on what turbo you have in your truck you will need to adjust the wastegate at some point. Remember, more boost does not always mean more power! With a stock turbo I would not go higher than 34-36 Psi.

Marco

Hey Marco,

Glad to hear your back is better! I have a similiar problem with one disc so I can't imagine having three nailing you. Take it easy and get better!

Hey Bob,

I haven't had any time to pull my ecm out to send it back to you, plus I don't really want to be without it. :cool: So I was wondering... if you were caught up on ecm's if you could send one to Marco and back to me and then I'll send you the one I have now, to see if we could get rid of the idle thing we discussed a number of months ago.

Thanks,

Ed

Marco, What about the ECM's going to ADT? It was ordered on the 23rd of May, 4 days before Bob's last order and his have already been received!

BTW Edge states that the Comp and Drag Comp are IDENTICAL to one another except for the fact that on 5X5 the Drag Comp fuels beyond 2700 RPM. So why would the Drag comp need to be any more special. Or is it either Comp that needs the "Special" ECM

I find that to be not true. The reg comp I have works good, but you plug in the drag comp and even level one there is a lot more fuel, so much it feels like level four or five of the regular comp, therefore they can not be identical. just my thoughts.
