Still waiting to hear from more cAtcher COMP guys.

I have a B1 and mach 5's and dont want to waste my money on something that will lower my HP or not give me as good as a kick in the pants as the stock catcher does to the little guys... . :)

Big Dan,

The testing with the " Comp special" CaTCHER is not finished yet but it SEEMS that the problem is solved.

On my side I've done a lot of driving/testing with that file. I can tell you for SURE that the MPG doesn't suffer with that CaTCHER version. Same MPG as the original CaTCHER.

Helps some?

Marco

P. S. Richard, I'm soooooooooooo sorry to hear that you have clutch problems! :-laf :-laf :D :D

... ... . yah, it's rough :{ but I can't say "I wasn't warned. " You did tell us it's a "clutch & traction challenger" The answer to the challenge is sitting in a box at my house right now. :D

BigDan, what do you consider to be "little guys"?

How fast is your truck?

Ahhh dont get upset... .

Little guys would be ummmmm you.....

stage 2 injectors and some hybrid 40 type turbo or wh. at not. (what the standard catcher was designed and works well on).

Now for how fast is my truck... . Last time I was at the track I was stock with a comp box and ran 14. 82. Fast enough for a stock with a box. Now as of yesterday I have Mach 5's(200HP) and a stock turbo. My B1 is on its way. So Don M. says I should expect 550-570 HP. That outta put me well into the 12's.

Is that fast enough small fry?????

HAHA im just giving ya a hard time ;)

P. S I cant race without my B1 since I can hit 1400' in first gear :-laf

Sounds high

Another member just dynoed a set of Mach 5's a B1, drag comp and water meth. resulted in 547hp ran 13 flat at the track I believe the very next week. He thought HP should have been higher but some very knowledgeable members thought 500hp without water meth sounded just about right.

Found a package at the gate yesterday - thanks Marco and Bob Wagner -

Luckily I have all next week off, so will be able to do some wrenching and driving to see what this thing will do. :) :-laf

Thank you pete :) There should be more results being posted, all ecm's are shipped until marco make a return shipment

you are going to love it

Yes, and I am quietly reading and wondering about Marco's turn-around time... I should have an CaTCHer in that batch! :)

Patience... patience...

Works Great,

I am still very happy with my Catcher ECM. I have a Comp box, Cam, P&P Head, 150 HP injectors, PDR HX-40. I have not had any issues with my set up. You would not be able to tell I have a different turbo with the new ECM. I have built many trucks over the years and this is the most responsive diesel I have driven. For those of you on the fence, get off and really enjoy your truck. Sam :D

Gang,

Bob and others waiting, I've shipped them ECM's, they should be delivered to Doug on Monday. This time UPS had a problem. They said unable to find the address ( my ). HUH, what?? it's the same, has always been that one!

Delayed the delivery for TWO full days..... :-{}

Oh well... .

Any idea how many production units are out & running now?

Over two hundred...

Thank you pete There should be more results being posted,

Well, you know how that goes on the web. People with problems or concerns WILL let you know. Happy campers... . That's just the way it is.

To DAWG-1's MSG.

The CaTCHER works for you even with the Comp.

Just as it does for me, our trucks are set up very similar.

I'm starting to think that the "comp incompatibility" becomes more noticeable then higher the boost becomes. In other words the trucks with twins suffer it, not the single turboed ones.

I guess it goes like this. Then higher the pressure in the combustion chamber, then higher the temperature during the compression stroke, then more advanced the fuel ignition.

Combine that with the advanced timing ( i. e. sooner fuel injection into the combustion chamber ) from the CaTCHER & Comp, voilà...

Makes sense?

That's why cutting back the timing from the CaTCHER seems to help those trucks.

That brings me to a second thought.

IF the above is true, maybe that those twined trucks could gain more HP (top) from an even more retarted fuel injection???

Marco

P. S. Have a nice weekend!

Marco, what have you done to my truck! Installed the caTHCER this afternoon and went for a short test drive. Just like others who have posted here, all I can say is WOW. Almost rearended 3 different cars when giving it alittle bit of peddle. It's true, you do have to relearn the go fast peddle but didn't take long. Smoke was not a problem. Only ran the box on 1X3 which is where it usually is. Will test it out on other settings later when I can get away from traffic. It does put the fun factor into driving around town.

AZPete, you will find that you do not need to run with your box on at all. 1x3 actually might be a detrement to the CaTCHER, however levels 3 to 5 aren't!

RCone, I did'nt have any reason to go into town today but made some lame excuse and went anyway, the long way around. You are right, with the box off it still has the giddie up. 1X1 was so-so and 1-5 was the same but too much smoke, but for my setup the 1X3 seems to pull the best. And of course I did get to try 5X5 once and the top end is still there. Couldn't let that new Caddie get me to the on ramp :-laf

Just letting everybody know that I'm a member of the happy camper club. The CaTCHER is Awesome!! I've picked up 1 to 1. 5MPG since I've had it and the response is great, I can't wait until my Mach 1. 5s get here. The low end power just stock pulls way better then my truck did with the comp on 2x5 and the EGTs are down as well. CC is as smooth as glass. All smiles here, the best upgrade that I've had. Thanks Marco & Doug!!
