Gary, I assume you mean without larger injectors, turbo, etc, etc.

Anything is possible I suppose. I guess if money were no object Marco could program CaTCHER variations into a SuperChips type programmer with different CaTCHER levels. But, as you point out, you couldn't change on the fly but you could stop and change based on the terrain and load you would likely to be encountering.

Then being my own devils advocate, some would say, why would you want to do that when there is already a superchips programmer for different levels. And the answer would be is that once again, a CaTCHER equipped truck drives different than an EZ or superchipped equipped truck (I'm talking low end power and responsiveness here again) and that is not heresay, I have had both setups. After all, an EZ only, was the FIRST mod (after gauges) that I ever did to my truck.

What is the peddle on the right side of the brake peddle for?"

Ah - you mean that SAME "peddle" *I* still have in MY truck, along WITH full Comp adjustability? :D :D

Gotta at least TRY to keep this apples/apples... ;)

NO, not a "knock", just pointing out the obvious - us Comp users don't lose the use of OUR accellerators either, we simply GAIN use of a box with a "volume control" that allows us to fine-tune available power to fit changing conditions... ;) :D

Gary, you might consider starting a "I love my Comp" thread. I was wondering if you have ever driven or even ridden in a CaTCHER equipped truck?

NEW EDGE COMP - CaTCHER Rules: ****JOKE****

"Enough already! None of this discussion is productive. People on both sides of this fence think that their side does no wrong and the other side does. The one thing that I am convinced of is that will NEVER change! Everyone needs to worry about their side of the fence and stay out of the others. NOTHING on this site fosters the level of discord, emotion, and anger that Engine modifications do. I don't know why and don't really care - I just know that is the case.

We've tried time after time after time to get people to stick to the FACTS and keep out of personal attacks - and it comes back EVERY SINGLE time. The sponsorship issue will never go away in the minds of some. The problem on our side is what defines sponsorship? With each person you would ask there would be a different definition of it. Therefore we make no difference in the rules as they apply to people sponsored by a vendor and general users. That isn't going to change and it's pointless to debate it. We do hold vendors themselves to a higher standard and neither side likes it. Both feel that we apply the rules only to them and not the other side - which isn't the case.

The only solution I can come up with to stop this is to institute a rule that when it comes to chips, if a post is started about Edge Chips ONLY those with Edge products or stock can post to it. If a post is started about CaTCHER's then ONLY those with CaTCHER's or stock can post to it. Likewise with Blue Chip, DD or others. I find it sad that it has to come to this but I don't see any other workable option based on the track record. These battles have been hashed out over and over again and nothing has come out of them other than people being ****** off and driving users away from the site. From here on out we will be deleting posts based on this policy. If you see a post that falls under this policy DO NOT fire back at that person - simply report the post and it will be taken care of.

If a post is asking a general Chip question you can post how your Chip modification works - but DON'T discuss the other side AT ALL. Posts WILL be deleted with no notice that do not meet this standard. "

:D :D :D ****JOKE****

SO, YOU are saying that in an EZ thread, NO comparison discussion should be alowed - and IF the owner of an EZ (TST, Comp, CATCHER) makes a false statement about HIS favorite, NO correcting comments or opinions ahould be allowed?

Do you realize how absolutely STUPID such a restriction would be?

I realize how much you and some other "CATCHER faithful" in this thread DETEST comparisons and requests for documentation to back up claims - but that is EXACTLY the reason for boards like this, to TRY different stuff out and MAKE those comparisons - regardless of how sensitive some members might be to those valid comparisons!

And *I* for one, don't plan to stop pointing out some of these different issues, AS LONG AS slanted and inaccurate material is posted here, or in other threads that might confuse potential users as to actual characteristics of various stuff I *am* personally familiar with.

And SOME stuff is common sense, whether you actually OWN a specific product or not - a DSS steering stabilizer will NOT correct a worn and leaking steering box, a new LP or pusher pump will NOT restore a dead or damaged VP-44 - and a CATCHER does NOT provide the same or greater "adjustability" thru the accellerator alone, on the fly, than a Comp's 25 individual settings on the box itself, along WITH the accellerator - regardless of builder insinuations that it DOES or CAN!

And if these "endless comparisons" bother some, they have the same option of skipping threads and posts as the rest of us do - and *I* haven't initiated any "personal attacks" here to date - tho I *have* been hit with a few... ;) ;)

Wtf?

I am trying to figure out why anyone is trying to compare the two products. It is ridiculous. The comp pierces the pump wire, the catcher does not. Compare the catcher with an EZ if you like but not a comp. Some of us will not pierce the pump wire for obvious reasons ;) Seems like the Catcher is better than any non pump piercing box on the market today. :D I want one.

Both would/could void warranty. Then there is an issue of firmware ownership to consider also???? Is there a reason ECM has to be shipped off shore to load the new code, when loading it here would shorten turn around. SNOKING

You are probably correct - and *I* am interested to see if marco CAN provide a similar ECM mod that provides good driver control combined with Comp-like power - THAT would be a REAL accomplishment!

Comp only pierces the pump wire if you choose to do that part. Other than that is operates similar to an Edge EZ with in cab control. HP and torque numbers would be similar between the three at that point. Drive-a-bility seems to be CaTCHERS claim to fame. SNOKING

Not sure how he would do that. I understand the VP-44's brain will only let it go so far. I have a secret though. My Hot Rod VP-44 runs like a truck with a comp on say 3x3 or so. Please don't ask for Dyno numbers cause I don't have em yet. If nothing else it smokes like it has a comp on it.

Flame away :-laf

pretty limited control if you ask me. Would be nice to see someone with a stock truck dyno the catcher. While we are wishing how about a valet switch for the catcher. Guys with big injectors would like that feature. ;)

Snoking,

might I ask who you are? Nothing in your signature shows anything about TDR moderator owner or what ever... None the less you seem to have the power to impose new rules... Inquiring mind wants to know!

You say that "None of this discussion is productive. "

Are you sure?

To tell you the truth, I've been helped by people using brand X product with the CaTCHER because they brought their concerns and problems to our ( TDR meant as a whole ) attention. That has allowed me to find a solution for the problem and after all "improve" the CaTCHER.

With the rules you want to be observed now, that could not happen.

Personally, I have no problem to listen to the opinion of "other fence". I'd call it a constructive discussin. Of course, as long as the discussion remains within civil limits.

That brings me to... I'm a member here since, well it's long time.

I've noticed several times that at a certain point during a discussion Mr. Strongman jumps out from nowhere and closes threads, deletes MSG's... you all know what I saying.

Wouldn't it be better if the moderators were a little more present in threads you already know COULD be a little more heated? I mean, the problem is most often, not WHAT, but HOW it's said.

The rule of the Moderator could ( should?) be to calm people during a discussion. I'm rather sure that most heated threads would slow down.

Take this thread as an example. It's been nice for a looooong time, then @ a certain moment something changed. One doesn't need do be a genius to understand when that was and WHO wanted to :-{} at every cost.

Would a moderator have taken the situation under his controll, we would not be where we're now.

The way you're doing it now... well, makes me feel like a little boy at school...

Sincerly,

Marco

Marco, did you miss this post. It was a copy of the transmission rules with a few words replaced. Sure quieted things down for 30min.

I put ****JOKE**** at the top and bottom of it. It was just that this was starting to sound like a transmission war! SNOKING

Nope, the CaTCHER increases the fuel just like any non wire tapping box, only the CaTCHER does it in a different manner.

Marco

U sure?

THAT would be a REAL accomplishment

Gary, read my lips!

I have been the FIRST to crack the ECM.

No doubt, later others have tuned the ECM too. (Downloader people )

Compare their results to mine... .

So please don't tell me what's a "REAL accomplishment".

Marco, I have NO idea WHAT your personal problem is, but I seriously doubt it started, or will end with, me - but clearly, you DO have a serious problem...

I sincerely hope you get better, SOON!

... Because your abusive and belligerent attitude is getting REAL old...
