Does anyone know where to purchase the CB Antena mount for the fender bolts? I stopped by the local TA Truckstop but did not find it.

Also where is a good location to install the CB in a 2001 Automatic and still have the cente seat available for a passenger? I was thinking about a mount that could be removed in a few minutes that could mount to the center seat frame. Any ideas?

Thanks,

this is were i put mine you have to remove the cup holder but i got one from Geno's so that isn't a problem.

I used to have a c/b in the truck. I had my mounted down by the accelerator pedal. It was tight I even had to use a 1/4 spacer on the bracket so the c/b would line up strait.

I want to mount shorty antenas on the rear view mirror. But the coax sticks out like a sore thumb.

:D Nice looking Radio ET. My wife and I have the Mirage clones ,we love them. Mine has quite a few more Big Truck miles on it, and hers does putout a tad better barefoot, but the TX Star does more than equalize that. ;)

MILES

SWAMP RAT THAT RADIO HAS 6 YEARS IN A KENWORTH OR FREIGHTLINER AND THE LAST 3 YEARS WERE TEAM WITH MY WIFE SO IT HAS SEEN THE ROAD AND BEEN SODDERD BACK TOGETHER SEVERAL TIMES. I HAD A GALAXY KICKER BUT HAVEN'T HOOKED IT UP IN THE DODGE YET. I HAVE A WILSON 5000 DRILLED THROUGH THE ROOF. WORKS GREAT BUT IT HURT DRILL'N THROUGH THE ROOF.

I knew quitting smoking would payoff some day as I found a little CB @ Radio Shack that fit where the ashtray used to be it's a tight fit but needed no bracket been in for a couple of years.

Buy the C/B Mount from Michael Brolin. I mounts to the front bolts of the center seat. You mount the backet that came with your radio to it. When you want to take the radio out, take your bracket off and leave the Brolin in place. His bracket will not get in the way of a center passenger. It is an excellent piece and you can't beat the price. ;)

kountersc, i have an aluminum plate in there with 6 switches for lights. fog lights, driving lights, backup lights, lights on my rockerpanels, and the 2 lights under the cb. I am a truck driver and you can never have enough lights. they either look good or are functional.

For the antenna mount try http://www.kenselectronics.com/lists/ants.htm

part # is SSDR-1 / $9. 85 is stainless steel!

Fellas here just squared me away on the cable routing earlier this week, it went great, likewise so did the fender bracket mounting.

Sounds like you need a Brolin radio mount!

As for the radio I haven't decided which mount to use, so I temp installed using velcro (YES Velcro! and it works great for around town, don't care to try it during elk season, probably end up wearing the CB! ).

(THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU HAVE CLOTH SEATS)

Buy a package of black velcro with adhesive backed strips (about 2"), and a package of black regular (non-adhesive, about 18"). With the radio standing vertically, place two pieces of the loop velcro to the radio opposite side of the seat, then cut the regular hook portion in half, secure from between each center/side seat to the radio.

If you want something that is easily removed, here's a simple idea. I bought a legal sized clip board, and bent the clip over at the top. Screwed the mount that came with the CB to it as well as the mike clip. Put a 12V lighter plug on the leads and presto. Just slide the clip board between the centre console and the seat. It works great,no screwing to the truck, doesn't slip, and removes in seconds. It puts the unit in a similar location to the Brolin mount, just a little higher. I only use the CB on long trips,so it was all I needed, and will work in all my trucks (as long as you have an antenna). The wife ended up covering it in a grey velour material so it looks factory.

From the FWIW dept:

The Brolin mount for the autos has enough room to suspend a 300 watt Messenger amp, giving driver side access to controls and allowing air circulation to the fins. Mike, did you design it this way?! (ps. hope you don't mind me posting your email address on some CB sites where fellow Ram'rs want more info... ) :D

Not that anyone would want more power for their CB...

While Gizmo's and others mount ideas look/sound good, for the price, you just can't beat Mike Brolin's solution, that is if he is still making them.

Easy 5 min. install, and your radio is out of the way, and at the correct angle and height for right arm drape adjustment with your center console folded down.

As I stated above, it was a serious bonus to find that my amp easily fit to the mount on the bottom side. But that was pure luck I *think*.
