I had a Y2K. I put my CB under the dash beneath the steering column. I didn't like it there because it was only inches from my feet (and the potential for my feet to get tangled in the wires if they ever came loose). It was also difficult to see the #&%$ thing.
I read a thread a while ago (while I was non-registered browser) about a couple of custom mounts for the RAM. Can anyone help me. One in particular was someone hanging it from the ceiling (I used to drive trucks, and that's where it goes!!), but I have the travel computer there.

Any ideas or links would be greatly appreciated.

I am very impressed with this site and the broad knowledge base. I hope to gain a lot, but hope to help out where I can as well.

Soler, I mounted mine on brackets under the center seat. I know it is not real handy, but I wanted it out of the way and there is no good place on the dash. I don't do much channel cruzin so it works fine for me. TDR member Michael Brolin has a truck like yours and he has a neat mount vertically in front on the center seat. You might drop him a note at MBrolin103@aol.com, or he might be able to post a picture of it.

Reply to CB mount, I have a 99 3500 quad cab with buckets etc. , I made up a large bracket approx. 12inches x12 inches as the truck isnt here i cant give you the exact measurements,Its an L bracket mounted in the center in front of the small seat between the buckets with The lower part of the L facing to the rear and bolted it to the floor I have installed a Cobra CB and VHF on the bracket,It looks great and I have acess to the mikes when traveling. When I leave the truck I just drape a towel over the seats and radios to keep them out of sight. Hope it helps.

Dittos on Brolin! All the good things you hear about his design is the truth. To see a few pics of one installed hit the link in the sig file below. Only problem with trying to see the mount is that when its installed you don't see it. Bad for pictures but great otherwise.

I have a manual trans. I mounted it where the little storage bin is behind the shifter. The bin is two piece plastic; front side which IS the dash and has an oval hole, and rear side which forms the pocket. I took of the rear side, and the face of my forward-firing Uniden sits in the oval hole in the dash. It is right below the factory radio. I had to make a special bracket, but it looks good.

Well I got the CB changed from wifes car in to the diesel. I mounted it in the center of the hump in the floor in front of front seat. I fabricated a bracket that is bolted to the floor and then bolted to the CB bracket. I had interior paint left over from gauge installation and painted the brackets agate looks OK. Mounted the antenna to my fiberglass top on the forward rt side. I used a white whip RV and Boat antenna that does not require a ground. I got it at radio shack. Looks OK. Whats the best power source to use for the CB thats all I have left to do.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I've been very happy with the CB mount I purchased from fellow TDR member Mike Brolin. #ad

Anyone know brolin's address so that I can send him a check quickly. I emailed him but he has yet to reply.

Since Brolin is not making the CB mounts anymore, would anyone want to try to fabricate one of these mounts themselves or send me a diagram of one so that I can try my hand at one of these. Thanks in advance.

I have a JL stealth box sub in my center seat. (as seen in Mactruck's sig) Because of the plastic seat instead of the foam I was able to mount my cb right to the front of the center seat. I thought of using the cubby behind the stick but it was a messy fit for my cb.

Hey, if any of you guys with Brolin's mount want to get rid of your CB, or know anyone who does, give me a hollar and I'll buy it from you.

Take a look at the Cobra 75WXST. It can be mounted under the seat cause all the controls are on the mike.

I too have my eye on that Cobra with everything in the Mic... . Seen it in Camping World Catalogue. Under $100. The base unit is tiny! Half the size of a pack of Cigarettes and mounts anywhere, hidden under the dash is best.

Wonderful how electronics has changed!

I'm now searching for the best antenna... .
