Bd plug and power question

Hey guys,

I think this should be an easy question.

I'm trying to hard wire my CB to the battery. I looked at several old threads and everyone just says to "simply hook to the battery".

I know that is simple, but how do I get through the fire wall? :confused:

I found a big plastic doodad where a wire bundle comes through near the brake cable, but I couldn't undo it without breaking it. :{

Any ideas?

Scott

you should be able to put the wires right next to th e big bundle of wires going through the firewall through the plastic ( circle hole) wichamacallit. Make sure the wires are big enough to carry enough amps to adequately power your radio! If you are planning on getting a bigger radio, have big enough wire to power that too. bigger is better. If the radio can't get enough power thru those wires, you will have problems. . . I put a circuit breaker on mine just to be on the safe side. (even though you should have a fuse of the proper size hooked up right before your cb. (ususally comes with that):cool:

Does the whoziwinker come apart or just ram the wires through?

I know I'm asking silly questions, but I'd rather ask than break it and then say, "Gee I should have asked so I wouldn't have done that".

just ram the wires through, (if it's the same as the 99, i'm sure it is) . If the wire you are using is too flexible, attach to a stiffer piece of wire (make a loop and tape it and drag it through. Be careful not to bruise the other wires, (could lead to big problems)
