This is the style with no ports... . As for how many as far as I know for sure there is 1. Even the one that came apart is questionable.
Composits have been used for years in aircraft due to better durablilty, weight, and strength over aluminum and SS.
How many have come apart and is it old style or new with ports ?
Thanks
Yes some faile, that is evident. But the superiority of a good composit is proven. Why do you think aircraft manufactoreres are all moving in this direction? The new Boeing 787 is pretty much total composit. The military has used composits in aircraft for longer than most and we all know they are some of the hardest used machines around. As far as thermal differences and aircraft will see temps over -70*C at altitude to over + 50* C air temp, let alone the skin temp due to sun baking.....![]()
So are you saying alumimun is more bulletproof than composits? I doubt a leading aircraft manufactorers like Airbus and Boeing would go with anything less bulletproof on an aircraft that flies over 600 mph and carries over 500 folks. I am also not saying that the composit that CFM uses is better than aluminum, I am just saying that blanket statements like aluminum is more bulletproof than composits is just not true.
Not sure what size turbos you recommend... . I just base the size on the HP desired and job at hand. I love smaller turbos if they will allow for the supported HP goals and cool adequately.

so we're saying the intercooler and boots are stronger than the CFM?
