I did a cam swap and use a 12Valve cam driven lift pump. No electrics to fail.
Aas far as the pressure gauges, I run one pre VP, post fuel filter. you could measure pre and post, but I didn't care what I was getting before the filter as the filter change interval seemed to clear up any issues with running two gauges. Another option would be an electric gauge, 2 sending units and a DPDT switch. Then you could see both on the same gauge.
best of the elect pumps? Everyone has thier favorite, but the tried and trued pusher setup along with the factory pump is as reliable as any of them.
The RASP is belt driven, but does not hang low enouch to catch anything. Well, maybe it could, but you are gonna be surfing off the oil pan and steering components as well. I would think a cheap an effective skidplate could be fashioned for those that really like to put worry into the system. but I would be hesitant to put anything in the way of a super easy belt change.
