Another brake controller ?

need some help on this one...

Anyone changed from 5 lug 15" to 16"?

Sure would like to dump the 15". I've done this on other vehicles, but not on a 5'er or trailer.

The 5'er has 5 lug white spoke wheels.

Thanks

Yes it can be done and it's not that bad of job. We switched our 5'ver over to 16's and to the 8 bolt pattern. Just get in touch with your nearest trailer supply co and they will prob have the parts on the shelf. Rv supplier prob won't have a clue but a good stock trailer manufacture would. In our case we just needed new hubs and bearings. It is nice to know that you can now use the truck spare if you need.

Another thing you may want to check out seeing as how changing the hubs is very expensive: Ford made a 5 bolt 16" rim in the 70's for a half ton (1976, I believe). These rims are very rare, but not particularly valuable. I used to have two of them, but I got rid of them in my last shop clean-up. Anyway, I am not sure if the bolt pattern would match up or not, but the ford/dodge 5 bolt pattern is a very common one. FWIW.

Thanks.

It's been awhile, but I bought 16" white spoke wheels for a 78 Ford Bronco ... maybe something is still available in this bolt pattern. :)
