I didn't take 3,5,6 off either, you can push the lines aside enough to get the pump out. The only problem I had was getting the gear off the pump shaft, a little heat did the trick. The pump has an O ring that goes between it and the front cover, I had a hard time trying to push the new pump into position. What I did was used the 4 mounting nuts to walk the pump into place. I tightened each one about a 1/4 of a turn in a criss cross pattern, the book says not to use the nuts to force it in but walking did the trick just go easy.
I do have a question about barring the engine to TDC though. When you bar it over to TDC should the key way on the pump be at the 12 o'clock position? I barred mine over to TDC and my keyway was at 6 o'clock. I got lucky that the key stayed in place.
